Hon Lik - the man who invented the e-cig

I came across this story and thought I'd share it as I've not seen anything about this man here (sorry if it's been posted). For those that haven't read anything about Hon, I hope you enjoy having a face, name and story to go with your e-cigs. I found his story to be quite touching and am quite thankful for his invention.

"Inventor Hon says the idea of the electronic cigarettes came to him in a dream in 2000: Coughing and wheezing, he imagined he was drowning, until suddenly the waters around him lifted into a fog.

He gave one of the first prototypes to his dying father.

"It was too late for my father, but not for me. I switched over myself to electronic cigarettes.""

Pity we don't have a vote in the nobel-prizes - he sure would get my vote. He has allready saved countless lives and even more from all kinds of suffering - and the potential (barring governments acting in their own interests...) is truly staggering.

What a wonderful story. Interesting about fog in the dream.

I have a little story to tell about what happened yesterday morning. It had rained constantly here in Arkansas for 2 long weeks then it stopped, sun came out, finally. Mom came to me saying there was smoke everywhere! I went outside. Sure enough smoking was whirling around roofs of townhouses, so one of neighbors called fire dept. It turned out to be fog! Amazing because it did look like a real smoke! So townhouses were vaping from the top!

Thank you, Amy. I had not seen this story before but enjoyed it very much. It would be nice to have this man's address and for all of us to send him a thank you card. Imagine how much mail he would get!!! I would send him one for sure.
