How many of you have looked into the cartomizers, read the literature and hype on the sites and whatnot and still ended up asking yourself "How much do the cartridge's really, really compare to a pack of cigarettes?" Everyone's ad say they last for the same amount of puffs as a pack of cigarettes. I think they are basing this on their 200-300 puffs per cartridge vs 10 or so puff per single cigarette multiplied by 20 cigarettes per pack. Doing the math like that and sure it makes sense. Now look around at any other human being and see if your breathing pattern and volume is exactly like theirs, I am going to take a stab in the dark and say no it is not, and therein lies the problem with stating that it is equal to a pack of tobacco cigarettes.
That said, I put a cartridge on at 4:00pm on Friday afternoon and used the KR as I normally would my other models. It lasted until roughly 4:00pm the next day. There were a couple of times I grabbed a different model for a couple of hits but only a couple of times, not enough to really impact this test. I was surprised that it lasted the full 24 hours without trying to monitor my hits or make it last longer. I wanted a real life application of the unit to base my findings on, not optimal conditions, but average conditions. Needless to say I was happy with the initial results. In that same time I would have refilled a 510 more times than I care to count, or dripped directly to it either way it would have been a lot of playing around instead of a lot of vaping.
The battery life is hard to say at this point since I have yet to run it down but the PCC I have with my KR unit will handle any issues that come up when I am out and about. The batteries can be substituted with some others like the 901 I have been told but I don't have a 901 to see but I don't doubt it one bit. The taste is a bit different at first but once you get a little bit in you then it is just fine. It may seem on the sweet side but I think that could have just been the kind of juice I had ordered with it to check out.
The biggest thing I have some issues with the KR808D-1 model is that it the draw is super light. It's like sucking on a straw, the airflow is too much. The were smart enough to realize that it was needed but they didn't put a lot of thought into tightening up the draw a little with a narrowing slot or smaller holes. The setup now is just too light, you have to suck on it now about 3-4 times to get a decent hit which of course cuts into the juice and cutting down the cigarettes per cartridge number as well. What I did at first was wrap my index finger around the holes where the cart and the battery come together and that helped a little. I then just cut a 1/8" wide band from the "cart condom" and slid that down the filter and over the holes and now it hits much much better. You need to leave a couple of holes open but it does the trick. One other thing I do that I imagine others might have done is I also cut the closed end of the cart condom off so I have about a 1/2" or a little bigger band to stick on the very end of the cart where our lips go so that it is softer than the hard plastic that they are made out of. Having that little bit of give seems to help with the seal between the lips and the cart and it gives a it a little bit more of a comfortable feel in the mouth.
I have since talked over these differences berween a GreenCig and it's my understanding that the GreenCig hits a bit more like a tobacco cigarette since the air flow is a lot different on the GreenCig. If this is not the case can someone who has a GreenCig kit pipe up before I order the GreenCig kit? I would hate to order one only to find that it's pretty much the same as the KR model on the draw. I know the carts are usable between the two models if you have the notched battery. I was told the air flow on the KR is closed in the battery area and when I was testing it is, and that the GreenCig battery airflow does happen in there unlike in the KR thus resulting in a draw more like a tobacco cigarette.
Overall depending on the persons smoking habits I would not hesitate to recommend the KR808D-1 to the right type of person that it would be a good fit for. I think if I had gotten that first I still would have stuck with it since the taste is very good and the vapor is warmer going in than with the other models. This would make a good introduction to vaping and it is a good choice for your go to main E-Cig if your like me and have a few different models that you use throughout the day. Hope someone finds this helpful. I know how daunting it can be trying to find the right one for you and not feel ripped off in the process. One thing to keep in mind is that if you don't like your kit you can always sell it here or trade it here with someone and get a different one to try.
