Hook up for running bats in parallel????????

Ok so I've been doing some basic 2AA enclosure box mods. Easy enough. Wanting to use a 3AA box and run two 14500's in parallel for the extra bat time between charges. I am not interested in running in series for extra voltage and know all I'll get is extra ah. My question is how to hook up the terminals in the box itself? Can't for the life of me find a diagram of this. All I've seen is both positives at the top and negatives togather at the bottom of the box. Any help would greatly be appreciated. TIA
