Hey all, i just picked up a box mod 5v mod which uses 2 TrustFire Protected 3.7V 900mAh 14500 Lithium batteries. Im on a ridiculous 16hr driving trip to Tennessee and when i drive i vape almost constantly. I didn't bring any spare batts with me and im wondering...

should the batts last? if not is there any way i can use 2 AAs without frying my box? or should i just buy a pack of Cigarettes? This sux... ive never used it long enough to have the batteries die and im suppose to only work an 8hr shift and didnt think of bringing extra batteries..

any quick answers would rock. im in a gas station mooching wifi for about 10min while i fuel up my unit. Thanks for any answers!

not sure on life time for that setup but i doubt it will get you all the way thru....sorry.
don't use regular AA batts - won't work, wrong voltage.
you may find someone on your route from ECF here that could loan you off a couple of batts - I've seen/read it done before.

Good Luck, try snus if you have to get over the hump...should kill the nic crave without the anolog.

You may be able to pick up some 3.0 volts at Radio Shack. You battery will not last 16 hours.

Thanks :) we will try that once we get to TN and do our thing... the ride back to Virginia could be a tough one.. seeing as i wont be back till 2am :(

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

The only things I could suggest is picking up a couple of extra batts, charge them and keep them for spares (may be too late for that) or consider getting a pack of snus. I've never heard of snus before joining ECF, but have since learned that it is just like the old chewing tobacco in a pouch, but with snus they are designed so that you can swallow the spit with no ill effects. I have actually tried them and yes, they will definately cut the urge so you can alternate between vaping and snus.

By the way, have a safe trip and let us know how you make out.

and had the worst trip back ever... My partner is unable to drive the unit so i had to drive back to VA as well lol The whole way i used my e-cig very sparingly! so i waited till i got to the point when i really needed it. The batt is still alive :) and i didn't have to get an analog.

I got back to my station at 5:45AM EST this morning...

The trip started at 7:45AM yesterday... im sleepy but have to go to a Dr.s appointment. Its ok though my partner has to be back at work at 8AM this morning :)

The Silver Bullet is looking better and better.

USB Passthrough would rock too if i had brought it :)

But we made it safe and sound :D

and thanks to everyone for the suggestions. BTW stopped at a Battery Plus (its a store that specializes in batteries) $11.... each...

Make sure those are actually rechargeable and not 'Primary' cells.

pretty sure the ones at Battery Plus are NOT rechargeable, tried to buy some there last week.....

yep they are a 1 time use. and they didn't last for squat. they died this evening and found the inside of a trash can at my docs office. Got me through enough to get home and grab a fresh set of batteries though. PLUS i just got a shipment of batts in with some chargers so im going to be sure to keep spares on me at all times.
