Horizontal Coils?

I have 25 carts from V2 and 5 from V4L. About 18 of my V2 carts have something blocking the hole through the middle of the cart. Thinking something was wrong, I pulled one apart to see what was up and then discovered that it appears to be the coil itself. So I'm guessing that these are "horizontal coils" although I can't seem to find any confirmation of such on the board.

Anyways, whats the difference, does anyone have any diagrams pics of the difference between this and the other type and do I want one over the other?

Thanks in advance!

Most people (myself included) prefer the horizontal coil. Since the coil is closer to the bottom it stays wet longer and avoids burning the filler.

Up until now I had not heard that V2 had these as well. They are the newer style so I guess most vendors will carry them at some point.

As for which you want? LOL which ever you prefer of course! Enjoy

You are correct, they are different. In a typical (read: old style) cartomizer, the coil runs from bottom to (almost) top. As the juice gets used, more coil is exposed to the dry filler. By the time the cart is close to empty, there is only a very small bit of coil actually getting wet.

Horizontal coil carts have the coil laying sideways very near the bottom of the cart. This placement keeps the ENTIRE coil wet for far longer. Typically provides for better vape, etc.

Sorry I don't have a picture to show and if I tried to draw it for you you would be afraid. lol

So this would explain why some of my carts I can fill from empty and get vaping, and others I have to wait a while before they work. The vertical coil ones don't need to have the liquid soak in all the way to the bottom to reach the coil.
