Forgive my ignorance. So I have a mini nautilus w/ a spinner 2, max volts is 4.8. So recently i've been getting a burnt taste from all my flavors so I decided to change the BVC. My original BVC was 1.8 ohms but the store didn't have any more so I got the 1.6ohm bvcs. So as they told me when using a new BVC let it sit for roughly half an hr and inhale it a few times with out the battery. So ok I did that and still I'm getting a burnt taste.

I'm vaping on Ruthless Mandingo primarily, even on the lowest voltage settings I'm getting this terrible taste. It's almost metal like.

Any suggestions would be great, I'm even considering buying a whole new tank.

Did you start at a low voltage when you changed your coil? If not, you may have burnt your juice and gunked up your coil. Try a new coil and start with a low voltage. Slowly move up, vaping a few times on each setting until you taste a little burnt taste. Then back it down .5 to 1 volt. There is nothing wrong with your tank. Could be your Spinner not adjusting the voltage and just putting out max. Do you have a multimeter?

You can try to dry burn the coil to clean it. I did an everclear bath, dry burned it, another everclear bath, then vaped a junk juice till the burnt went away after about 5 puffs and got another week out of that coil. As the above poster stated, start with your voltage low on any new coil and work your way up to work it in and extend coil life. like a few puffs at 3.3, a few at 3.5, 3.8, etc. The bvc has a ceramic wick which is supposed to be temperature proof so the burnt taste should not be the wick, may be burnt juice on the coil, also your coil might have a hot spot and not be right. A half an hour with several primer puffs is enough time to wick fully but you might be able to vape through the burnt taste. Fire it and blow instead of sucking for 3 or 4 full fires. vapor will go out the air hole. Then do several primer puffs. I do that when changing flavors to clear out most of the old flavor for the new one.

I actually had the same problem when I got my mini nautilus, I switched to 50/50 eg/vg and had to get new coils and make sure you let is sit in the tank for about 10 minutes and take a couple dry hits (no power) until you stop seeing bubbles come out, that worked for me at least.

Hope that Helps
