Last week, I woke up in the middle of the night with acute abdominal and chest pains. 8 hours later the pain was still as intense and showed no sign of abating, so I called myself an ambulance.... to cut a long story short it's my gall bladder and I get to go back in November to have it whipped out as apparently you don't need one. Go figure.

But.... what was cool about the whole experience, was that I asked the ward Sisters if I could vape, and was told I could.

So there's me in the hospital bed, vaping away over my 4 day stay. Awesome! :)

Smoker a couple of beds over shot me looks of hate every time he went for a ... (every five minutes), but he didn't seem interested in finding out more. meh.

Edit: Just spotted the hospital thread further down. For reference I'm in the UK so not sure how applicable it would be in the States.

You can surely be sneaky about it. I've vaped in the most unlikely places and nobody was the wiser. I just blow the vapor into my sleeve or hold it until it isn't visible anymore. E-cigs are awesome for keeping me happy at the movie theatre, at a hospital, in an airport, on a plane (you can easily suck on your e-cig without calling attention to yourself), in a store. You just have to be somewhat covert, or at least be subtle about it. I have no need to advertise that I'm vaping and others seem oblivious to it.

Wow! You really were lucky to get to vape in the hospital! Here they have no smoking anywhere..at all..nada..so no sneaking out for a drag or two. Now with an e-cig, I could just go to the bathroom or somewhere that I am alone and have a vape or 6 and be happy. What a difference 5 years makes!
I sure hope you feel better soon. I have one hint for you. Walk! As much as you can and you will heal very fast. I had the old fashioned gall bladder surgery..and have a 6 inch scar to prove it! But I was home in 3 days because I refused to sit still for long.
