I have some cr2's coming for an R2V2 mod I recently acquired. I don't want to have to go out and buy a new charger when I already have 2 chargers. I have a 3V charger for 16340's and was hoping there was a way I use a household space to fit the cr2's. I read on madvapes.com that they use dimes. Anyone tried this? I've heard paper clips, etc. Does it just need to be a good conductive metal? any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

A CR2 is a primary (non-rechargeable) Lithium Manganese Dioxide cell that contains metallic lithium. Metallic lithium is not stable enough to handle recharging. Recharging usually causes them to explode, if not on the first try, within a few tries..

Perhaps you meant RCR2? In which case, it is important to know which chemistry they are, as there are likely several out there. While they may be rechargeable, charging them with the wrong charger can be dangerous depending...

Just as important as knowing the chemistry of the cells in question, you also need to know what type of cells this 16340 charger is designed to charge. There are at least 3 different types of chargers out there for lithium-ion cells of this size. Some charge to 3.6V, some to 4.2V, and some to 4.4V. Many "3.0V" cells out there are actually 3.7V cells with a voltage bucking circuit in them, and they require 4.4V to charge correctly. Such a charger could be very dangerous if used with any other type of cell.
