One small step for me..one giant leap for my health.

My Ego arrived today from Puresmoke.com. :D I ordered it Thursday morning and it is on my desk now. Super fast service. My Ego kit included 2 complete Egos a bottle of of menthol juice (I smoke menthol cigs), wall charger, usb charger, a light weight case (which I will replace with an Ego case) and 5 empty carts. I couldn't wait. I dripped 4 or 5 drops on the atty and fire that baby up. WOW it sure beats a smoketip for vapor and it's easier to draw from.

How do I fill the cart? Do I pull the filler out and fill it up then replace the filler? Will it not leak out of the little hole in the cart?

Ohh I forgot I also ordered 1 30ml bottle of cash menthol ice and a 30 ml bottle of cashcap and 2 Lr attys. All were packaged together.

You can either drip juice directly into the cart filler until it's full or do the simplest cart mod out there that has a proven track record

This one's too easy not to try.

Edit: re: your second question...no, it will not leak out the mouthpiece hole. The cart is not just a simple shell, but a series of baffles...four parts, two of which easily pops out.

No, it won't leak out the hole. The cart has like a little cup inside it to hold the liquid and/or filling. When you suck hon the cartridge, the air flow kinda goes around the little cup inside the cartridge. My explanation is probably confusing...

Anyway, the conventional way of filling the cart is to drip liquid... then wait... then drip a couple of more drops, then wait... until the filling on top looks like a slushie. If it is pooling on top, and stays that way, take a paper towel and dab away the extra liquid.

Another way to fill the cartridge is to use a syringe. Johnson Creek sells one with a plastic tip for about 2 bux, I think. With that, you fill the syringe, stick the tip to the bottom of the filling, and gradually add liquid while moving the needle tip up slowly, until the cart is full.

Once you get into PV's more, you will want to try a variety of modifications, such as taking out the filling, cutting 2/3 away, filling the cart 3/4 with liquid, and using the remaining 1/3 of the filling as sort of a plug on the top of the cart (the Hiping cart method, I think it's called).

Easiest, most EFFECTIVE method is this...see how long the polyfill is? Doesn't have to be. Take it out of the cart. Cut it into 3 separate pieces using SHARP scissors. Fill the empty cart up with liquid up to the little 'ledge' you see on there, where it goes into the atty. I can usually get anywhere between 10-13 drops in it. Then, take the LITTLE piece of polyfill and pop it back on the top, leaving about 1mm or less of space from the edge of the cart and you're good to go.

How do I fill the cart?
You put as much juice in as the filler material in the cartridge will hold without pooling at the top of the filler material. If it pools at the top, just dab it with a paper towel or tissue.

The problem is, if you are just putting drops right on top of the filler material that comes with the cartridge, it isn't going to sink to the bottom without a little help. You can use the straw modification, or you can use a toothpick or paper clip to push the filler aside a little bit so that it can breath while you are putting in the drops. Some people use a syringe or a needle tipped dropper bottle to get all the way down to the bottom of the cartridge.

And I have found that if you replace the stock filler material with blue foam, you can actually put the drops right in if you tilt the cartridge to the side while doing so, but that is probably a bit more than you want to bite off and chew right now.

And yes, removing the filler material and replacing it after filling is another option.

OK I cut part of the filler off and filled to till it was about 1/4" from the top. Reinstalled the cut piece of filler and then dropped a few more drops on the filler till it was soggy. Took a few draws and it was great then it started to have a burnt taste. It was not near as sweet as it was in the beginning. What did I do wrong?

I would like to try some of the cappuccino. Would it be OK to drip on the same atty or do I need to change attys?

Congrats on your purchase. I see you are finding out quickly that carts are a pain. they are fickle. I would say most people get drip tips and drip. There are a lot of people like myself that prefer cart mods. You'll have to find what works best for you. I personally use the marineland blue foam mod with great success.

Good luck!

Sounds like you might have put your cart on sideways. It should line up with the profile in the atomizer below the wyck.... either that or your fill is burning (one of the reasons for mods )-

it is ok to go to another flavor- best to blow out the atty from both ends onto a paper towel or tissue....

adding:
Also, I use the blue foam mod when I use a cart on my eGo, but generally prefer to drip with a drip tip...

Didn't see it mentioned above but you can drip directly onto the atty - start with 2-3 drops - and put your empty cart (sans filler) back on the end ... drip tips make it easy to drip without removing the cart....

I bet that's what I did. I didn't know that it had line up with the atty. What type of drip tip? Any pics?

Here is a link to the section on drip tips at GoodProphets.com.

I prefer the plastic ones, rather than metal, because I just don't like the feel of metal on my lips.
