I started getting a burnt taste on my Aspire Atlantis coil after 2 days, though I was vaping quite excessively. I look down into my coil and it is really gunked up on the inside. I use this great method of cleaning glass pipes using microwave-heated hydrogen peroxide and salt but could i apply this to a coil? I have heard the wicks on these things tend to char quite easily..

Just dollar store denture tablets work great. Just soak, rinse with warm water and air dry. Easy peasy. Or a good soak in Everclear will work also. I said a soak not a sip.

I take my old gunked up coils and place them in a coffee cup. Then I pour either hot tap water or boiling H2O from a tea pot into the cup and let it soak until the water has cooled. I then pour off most of the water and swirl the water and coils around in the cup. You'll be amazed at all the small burnt particles floating around in the water. I generally repeat this process 2-3 more times then air dry on a paper towel. Once the coils are no longer soaking wet, I then set them on top of my cable modem over night. This process along with rotating coils has given me the best life out of the store bought coils.

Once they are totally burnt, or taste bad even after a clean, it's into the "re-build in the future" bin!
