How Do I Know? Cartomizer/Atomizer Question

Hey all. Well, my vaping experience consists of a whole 4 days now, and I'm over the moon! I'm reading and learning.....promise!!! The equipment I have now consists of MV's LUX and I'm rotating between the regular atomizer, their SS atomizer (super sport?), and the Dual Coil Cartomizer. I read people talk about them going bad.... but can't figure out "when" will I know that they are bad and need replacing. What happens to alert me that a carto or atty is no good anymore?

I also seem to be going thru about 2 ml of e-juice a day which is 18 nic level. Does that sound about right for someone who did smoke 2 PAD?

Thanks for the help.

I have a different set up and use cartomizers exclusively. But to me there are only two times to throw out a cartomizer:

1. You get a burnt taste at any time. This is pretty unmistakeable.
2. After 10 refills (sometimes more, sometimes less) it will start to taste oily, or like a dish towel or otherwise just nasty.

If you have cartos, the best way to keep them going is to top off. I use a 3 hour rule and have good success with that. I won't vape a carto past 3 hours without topping it off. Keep about 5-6 handy and refill them at night. It takes me about 10 minutes.

Some people will clean cartos and say they get much more life out of them. I don't want to waste time with that so I just toss them. They are what 2-3$ each?

2ml is fine - most people use 1.5ml to 5ml per day

Cartos - when the drag is bad or the taste is bad and adding juice tastes/drags no better, then it may be time to start a new one. I can get about a week's use (or more with a Boge) out of a carto with 20% or less VG clear light colored juices that leave little or no sediment, if I keep the carto damp so it doesn't singe.

Atomizers - if it won't heat at all, it is flooded (check the threaded connection si dry, try blowing it out) or dead. if everything tastes bad try cleaning it. Switch to a clean atty after priming it well and waiting for it to reach the coil. Blow out the dirty one and start cleaning it. If you know it is clean but it is weak on all of your batteries, toss it or save it in a bag of emergency spares.

I'm vaping 5ml per day, maybe more. But, I'm doing low dose. 2ml is very good. Lots of folks gave carto advice. I can't help there. But if your atty is dead, you'll know. You get NOTHING. If you get burnt taste with atty, it could be that the atty needs cleaning, juice remnants burned onto atty. I have to dry burn mine frequently.

Thanks for the "like" in other thread, btw. :)

Oh, thanks so much for the great info.......all of you! Ok ... I have one carto that is beginning to taste a little foul, so that goes into the newly created "clean" pile. I'm getting the hang of this, I guess. :) I didn't about topping off the cartos every 3 hours, so I'll start doing that. Thanks to jbankstone for that tidbit of knowledge! And JustaGuy......your welcome. :)

Hope all have a great day!
