How do I know which replacement coils to buy for the Triton will work the best?

When I bought my Triton I figured I'd buy some replacement coils at the same time so I wouldn't have to order again for a while. I stupidly didn't realze that mah and volts were not the same thing, so when I looked at a chart to see what the right resistance for me was, I bought 3.2s.

I have the 400 mah battery. After I bought them I looked more into the specs on the website again and it says

Battery Actual Voltage - 3.3 - 4.2 voltsBattery Rated Voltage - 3.7 volts

My question is, since the Triton comes with 2.4 in the kit, when it's time for me to replace it, will the 3.2s be okay with it, or will there be a huge difference?
I don't mind if the vapor isn't as warm, but I do mind about the flavor and vapor production.

HUGE difference.

The standard are 2.2-2.4 ohm coils. Perfect for the Triton Batteries. The 1.8 ohm coils are good for the clear liquids for a warmer, stronger vape on the standard Triton battery. The higher resistance coils are for the Variable Voltage Battery, because you'll need more power to get decent performance. The 3.2 will be okay on a fresh-off-the-charger battery, but will give next to nothing once the power begins to fade.

How about the 2.6 - 2.8 ohm coils? I got these when I ordered my Triton because I was hoping for a cooler vape. Will they be ok?

Those will be okay. But once again, when the battery begins to deplete... well, you'll really be able to tell. With the standard 2.2-2.4 ones, I really notice the difference when the battery drops because it feels weak to me. But I still enjoy a hard, warm hit when I vape.

Thanks Jef. I appreciate the feedback. I've been using the G6 mini tanks for trying out different liquids and just ordered 3 more of the 2.4ml tanks for things I know I like - Tribeca, Southern Classic and your favorite Voodoo. I'll get some of the 2.2 - 2.4 on my next order.

When I ordered replacement coils, I simply got the standard 2.2-2.4 ohm replacements as it has worked so well, why change it up?
The standard 650mah batteries last for a day and a half with my vaping habits so I just change it out every morning. I really do not see the need for VV batteries as, again, it works so well in standard guise. Way to go Halo for me putting down the lighter FOR GOOD. :toast:

After over three weeks, I have yet to smoke the two original coils as I clean them weekly.

How do you usually clean the coils?

What's yer experience with the 1.8's?
I just ordered some extra 2.2-2.4's & threw some 1.8's in there.
You say "the clear liquids"?
I've got a ton of their liquids, about ten tanks & two 400mAh's, one 900mAh & a VV.
Got the 3.0-3.2's for the VV (as they were recommended), but find that I generally prefer the 2.2's.
Just wondering which liquids would work best in the 400mAh's &/or 900mAh with 1.8's?
(I also have juice from a few other vendors, but still pretty new to vaping - 3 weeks)
Thanks.

VV batteries help you fine tune the flavor, throat hit and vapor output. The more complex flavor the juice, the more apparent VV's virtues become. The VV batteries are also voltage regulated, which means that you'll get the same voltage from your first drag to pretty much your last drag.

I was a bit skeptical of VV until I tried it. Makes a huge difference IMO. And just because your current vaping is great doesn't mean that it can't get better. If you've got an extra few bucks burning a hole in your wallet, give the VV battery a try. I haven't seen a single person say it wasn't worth it.

@ JR- I will definitely upgrade to VV bats when these initial standard ones stop working. However, I do not notice any voltage drop throughout the day with the standard 650mah bats. It feels the same at noon as it does at 3 in the morning, IMO. For now, if it isn't broke, I am good. Simpler is better for me. Like I said once- whoever has the biggest pile of E-Cig stuff does not win; they only spent the most money. {Just my opinion, of course.} Happy Halo vaping to all! :2c: :vapor::toast:

I thought the same thing about vast collections of batteries.
And yes, the regular Halo batteries do very well for me, too (only started vaping about 3-1/2 weeks ago).
But I decided to add a VV into the mix, and even as a new vaper - IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.
Honestly I wish I'd been able to upgrade one of my starter kit batteries to a VV when placing the initial order but, unfortunately, that wasn't an option.
It can REALLY make a difference on certain Liquids - make the flavor POP out at you, or let you pick up on subtle aspects you hadn't detected at the lower voltage.
I use my VV whenever possible, but the starter kit batteries are more convenient (size-wise) when out & about.
Just my 2 cents.
