how do i know what watts to start out to test new coils? i dont understand the ohms law thing on steam eng, im going to build a 2mm 6 wrap dual 28g coil for 0.5 i got a sieg 150 i dont know what to start the watts out so i dont burn the coil and how high i can go

Start low and work your way up in incriments until you find the vapor/flavor ratio you enjoy. My coils vary from build to build but mainly below 1 ohm. I usually wind up in the 20 - 40w range

Learn to build a single coil first. Aim for 1.0 ohm. Reasons for this: .5 is your eventual goal which is made from 2 parallel 1.0 ohm coils. Making 2 coils when you are learning is a frustrating waste of time and wire because you will most likely not make a quality coil your first couple times. Learn some ohms law basics before you go sub. Sub ohm is not rocket science and can be done easily and safely but knowing the basic science is important imo. Power is decided first by safety/science, second by taste. Once you learn to answer the first the second part will answer itself easily.

Btw, those who are "intimidated" by ohm's law, know that is very basic and pretty easy to grasp. 8th to 10th grade material in most countries.

I find Ohm's Law very much applies to how I like to vape. Generally setting my wattage in the 4.2v range is a good starting place for me. For a 0.5ohm build, that's about 35W. From there I fine tune. Depending on the juice, I might go a little lower, or I might go higher. My happy spot will turn out somewhere between 4.1-4.8v. Using wattage does give me the ability to fine tune though so I do really prefer mods set in vw.
