Hi I am new here.

I have been smoking regular cigarettes for 50 years and it's got me down. So far the doctors say my lungs are okay but I don't want to tempt fate any longer and decided to try vape on the recommendation of a friend.
I bought my first e-cig pen at the corner store yesterday but don't know how to remove the packaging. Doh! I know it sounds ridiculous but I am not even sure if there is a tube of plastic packaging around the actual pen because my eyesight is very poor and I cannot tell for sure.
I have done due diligence surfing for an answer but no luck.
Could someone kindly tell me how to?
Thanks

Yes, you'd probably need to mention your device. Congrats on wanting to start vaping.

Unless it's something absolutely no one uses, you may be able to find a youtube review on your device. If you can I'd recommend watching it, it should give you more familiarity with your device generally, I wouldn't be watching so much for the reviewer's option, but more so you can understand your device well.

If you don't find a review, we will of course also try to help you out with answers... Welcome to ECF.

Welcome to the forum, Kitty. To help with answers, what pen do you have specifically?
The pen is not part of a kit. It is stand alone. Was not attached to any plastic or cardboard. It says Essence nicotine free strawberry. The only one the store had left and they sold it to me for $10. I just wanted something cheap to try. I checked Essence website and could not find anything like it. I searched you tube but did not find anything about unpacking this model. I surfed the web too with no luck. I don't have anyway of photographing the pen to post here. I don't own a cell phone - don't want one. The pen looks like it has a clear plastic cylinder around it to protect the actual pen. If need be I will return it for a refund. I plan to visit a vaping store for a nicotine kit and to try out some flavors.

Probably the best thing you could do. :thumb:

I suggest that you familiarise yourself with vaping terminology so that you aren't blown away from information overload when you visit the store.

If the store will let you return the vape pen (I'm somewhat dubious there, although if they won't you might ask them to help you "get to know and how to use it," and that way, even if it's not your ideal experience you will have a backup and secondary vape.

I think you can probably do better in terms of equipment, but you are pretty new, and I'm not entirely certain what type of vape equipment or experience you'd like. It might not be so terrible to start out with something simple like you have, and then do some research and work your way up to a more "robust" setup, whether that means for you, just a stronger and more variable mouth to lung, smaller vape that still will probably pack a bigger punch than what you have, or an even more cloudy, direct lung inhale.

I hope (if you wish) that you are able to get a refund but if you can't, you can still make this situation work for you and etc.

If I had tried to quit vaping on my first vaping equipment, I probably wouldn't be the non smoker I am today. My "error" was in the reverse direction I showed up here with a very cloudy, .powerful sub0hm setup, and that type of vaping was not for me, I rather quickly found out. However, I was determined, which is how I ended up with the type of vaping I really enjoyed.

Best of luck,

Anna
