How do you clean an atty?

The highping atty cleaning method makes sense. Heating the atty, rinsing, heating it again, rinsing again, etc. Presumably heating would cause any buildup to turn to ash, and water would help remove the ash. I haven't tried it because I'm afraid to overheat the atty and burn it up, but if I ever have an atty die on me, what could it hurt to try the highping method?

Every night I blow out the juice, drop them in a small glass, cover them with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), put them in the microwave on high for about twenty seconds bringing them to boil three or four times, rinse them well with water blow them out, and let them drain overnight. Does it work? I hope so, but I've only been vaping for a week, so I can't be sure.

The number of other "solutions" out there makes my head spin, and I just like to keep it simple.

If youre getting through so many Id ask what youre doing to them? (as in, is there something youre doing that maybe causing an issue that we can help with) Or perhaps you are expecting them to last longer than they do?
I dont clean mine - when they start drawing hard and 'feeling' overly gunked its usually trash time for them. Life's too short to mess about trying to fix something so cheap and not be assured that it'll work imo lol.
:)

Another vote for the Highping. It`s not at all complicated like sounds, + it can be done in no time. If at any time something doesn`t taste right, or I don`t think I`m getting the vaopr I think I should, I take a couple of minuted and do this, and back to great performance as quick as I can get it primed.

Excellent, because I'm making a list of those who won't do the Highping dry burn method.

It is starting to look like my atomizer is going to last forever.
I have around 30 of them stockpiled that I may soon decide I will never need.
:p

So I'm going to be looking for people who don't clean them.
Then I know who I can sell all mine to!
:D

And since I like you so much, I'll put you at the top of the list.

kinda curious how long they are lasting for you. I still have my original two from 2 months ago, still going strong, i just blow them out every week...
Well, the straight answer is a little misleading...

I am currently using the first 510 atomizer that I got with my starter kit.
That was just one week shy of 12 months ago, and it is working as good as new.

HOWEVER........

It has not been used exclusively that whole time.
It was always in a rotation though, and never got put aside for long.
But I was rotating it with another 510 for awhile, and with some 306s for awhile.

Also, I am not a heavy vaper, going through about 1ml per day.

But I really am starting to believe it will last forever.
And I have been using it exclusively since I found the Highping method, and will continue until it dies.

If it ever does, that is.
:)

EDIT FOR CORRECTION...

I just got some LR atomizers a few weeks ago, and I use them when I go out and have to take my little stock 510 batteries with me instead of using my Chuck. This happens about 2 or 3 nights per week.

So yeah, I still won't be using that one atomizer exclusively I guess.

ROFL!
:p I never had a good result yet with any method - I have tried the dry burn/Highping one but alas, no luck so I gave up flogging myself and just chuck em out :) I get an average of 4 months per atty - I think I'm doin' alright :)

(You did give me a big laugh tho lol)

So when you are not using an atty do you position it to drain?

    Somewhere between here and there
Some time ago, a member named Saatec I think it was, did a bunch of experimenting and found that soaking attys in crest pro health mouthwash did the best job cleaning attys. You soak them for 20-30 minutes and agitate them every once in a while. When you take them out, you will most likely see some black particles in the liquid. Then you have to rinse them really well with hot water and let dry for several hours. I have done it before and it has seemed to work pretty good.
