So, back in July, I got myself a little Blu e-cig starter kit. I like it. It's compact, feels much like a cig in my hands, I got some liquid so I can refill the cartridges myself, and I am a happy camper.

This past weekend, I ran into another vaper and his gf. They let me try out the devices they had, and I was thinking I could cope with having one of them for sitting out on the patio at night and chilling. It wouldn't work all day ... but for non-work/business life it might be kinda cool.

The problem of course, is I have no idea where to even start.

The one I liked the most had a black battery, about the size of 2 9 volts stacked, a little button to push when you inhaled up near the top of the battery. There was a tank on it that held the liquid, you could see through it (it was clear). It looked like it might hold maybe one of my 6ml bottles, maybe not quite that much. The part you put your mouth on was like a marble/black/white swirl, I think they are called drip tips?

I've been reading here every day since I signed up, just trying to put things together, and to be honest, I'm lost. The answers to the questions seem to be over my head.

Is there somewhere I can start? Simple, basic stuff? Like, Do I buy a battery, one of those tanks and a mouthpiece and I'm good to go? Does any combo work? Can I buy one already assembled? What does the voltage mean? Are there different kinds of tanks?

I need a vaping for Dummies (seriously, does it exist???) or someone with the patience of a saint and willingness to answer a metric f-ton of dumb questions (that are probably rather obvious to everyone else here).

I'd love to be able to watch a ton of youtube videos, but I can't. Blacklisted at work, and I work 2 jobs, so I don't exactly get a lot of time on the home computer. :glare:

Sounds like the vapers you bumped into were using an ego type battery with a clearomizer or dual coil tank. Ego kits are available online and usually consist of 2 batteries, USB charging cable and a few prefilled cartridges. Pretty much 2 full e cigs. Tanks and clearomizers can be bought separately and are actually quite a good idea to start with. Easy to fill and hold a good amount of juice. Kanger t2 or vivi nova are popular just now. Try to get a kit with battery ratings of at least 900 mah or milliamp hours. Should last all day before needing charged. No question is a stupid question around here. We have all been where you are and are always here to help.

You can read the Vaper's Handbook and get all the knowledge you need in a short period of time so you can get back to work:

Madvapes is a good place to buy mods. Personally I've spent alot of money on vaping always hoping for something better and always ending up disappointed.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with this. I've went from V2 mini ecig, to an X2 808 with clearomizer, to a ego twist with a mini nova, and each step was a considerably better experience than the last.

Of course going beyond where I'm at now gets expensive and I'm guessing I won't see nearly as much of a return on investment, so to speak. I plan to stick with the ego twist VV and mini nova's for quite a while, as it is about as large as I want to get, and I don't know of too many technical benefits of going beyond where I'm at now.

I feel the same as you, BumbleBee, but this site looks like they have a lot of answers to the questions I've been coming up with. I'm still roughing it out with my first e-cig kit from ProSmoke bought last Oct. I've been cleaning and refilling the carts with 5 flavors of V4L Juice that I bought separately.

I just ordered my second kit from Vapor King (the Storm 2) and I'm switching to e-tanks cartridges and a dual coil 3.5ml Cartomizer Tank hoping to get more consistent hits and more vapor. Did I make the right move? I'll find out and report back when it gets here...

Bottom line is that it doesn't matter where you start, it only matters that you did. It also doesn't matter all that much what PV or accessories you are using, you can rest assured that someone will come out with something bigger and badder next week.
So the only important thing is that you enjoy the ride ..... it's a fun one.

The only way you will ever know if you enjoy this type of vaping .. or that way, is to try it.

    "Enjoy"...

Well, it beats paying >=$2 of taxes per pack.. You can invest about as much in handrolling a smoke as in a a set of eGo's or a few of Madvapes kits. Difference is: the taxes, the skills you can learn, and the lack of toxins/monoxide. I had handrolling down to a science, but I got tired of coughing up a lung each morning.. I've no interest in cutting my nicotine out, or vaping candy/cakes or softdrinks, ymmv.

Oh. And the nazis still restrict where you can bloody vape - that's a never-ending battle. Still, it's a good sub and an interesting "hobby" or three as well.

Now is a good time to be looking. There will probably be many Labor Day specials and sales. On the main page click what's new and today's supplier posts....that is if you can decide what you want:) I say a good starting point is a Kr808 or 510 starter kit. Get high the highest maH batteries you can afford and make sure it comes with 2 atomizers, 2 batteries, a usb charger and wall hub. You also may want to get a drip tip for future reference. Good Luck. You're in the right place at ECF
