How do you fry a 510 battery?

I have 3 510 manual batteries- They are not new- I believe they are from Totally Wicked-

I havent payed enough attention as to how long they last-

anyway- I was told if I am using a cart- I should make sure that my atty stays damp- SO, when I top off the cart I also drop onto the atty- a drop of two-

with a carto I just soak the carto with juice and try to keep an eye on it not getting dry- Right?

I guess what I am asking is- what fries a battery? I have 3- and I use about 5 during the day- I am currently having on emore shipped to me- and know that I need to replace what I already have eventually, BUT, decided to get one a month once I get a decent juice stockpile- - (budget and all that)

I am just scared to not have at least 2 at all times- I cant allow myself to go back to analogs- PERIOD- I know that eventually they will die- but I dont want to kill them-

Easy to fry a battery. LiIons average about 300 re-charges. That seems like a lot, but easy to hit that number if you have been vaping a while. Also, the 300 is an average, not even a mean.

That is why I will never buy another PV that does not have a replaceable battery. Can get them from China (where they come from anyway) for $3 shipped.

But some people like the appearance of the look alike, but charging 5 batteries a day would prompt me to go find a bigger battery.

If your atomizer's resistance drops below 1Ω, your battery's MOSFET switch will die for sure. I check the resistance of my atties periodically just be on the safe side. A shorted atty will also kill your battery. Or a malfunctioning charger.

Other than that, they are reliable and I wouldn't worry too much. You can always get replacement batteries for ~14 bucks. They don't last forever. Sooner or later you'll have to buy new ones.

If I may suggest something...

Those 510 batteries are pretty expensive by comparison to their eGo counterparts. The eGo batteries last a good long time -- I mean, during its daily cycle AND the amount of times that it can be charged. It basically blows the stock 510 battery out of the water in terms of durability.

It's bigger, yes. And you would need a charger too BUT... I bet you're paying nearly as much for the stock 510 batteries?

Check this out ---

Joye eGo Battery 650mAh

and this

Joye eGo USB Charger

This is what I'm using right now (not a name brand like Joye) -- haven't had it very long so I wont recommend it but so far it's doing the job very nicely...

eGo Manual Battery (1000 mAh)

Thanks :) I honestly dont know what the resistance is- or how to check it- LOL Yeah- I know they are not gonna be around but for a few months- so I found the replacement batteries- and I will start stocking up on them- :)

what size attie fits that? It doesnt look that much bigger than the 510- I am just not at the 'box' stage yet- I feel silly enough acting like a junkie with all my little juice bottles and case that I carry the stuff in- LOL

I have some old 510 manual batts that have way more than 300 charges on them.Just make sure you keep them clean.I use alcohol on them after each use. It only takes a minute. I think it really makes a difference on them lasting longer.

Where do you put the alcohol? just on a Q tip and around the threads? rubbing or drinking?

Oh, sorry, I misread the OP. I thought you had eGos...

Yes, I agree with Richie. If you don't mind fat batteries, get some eGos or Rivas. They last much longer and the new SE Rivas from Liberty Flights actually deliver true 3.7v.

Green House and Liberty Flights have very good prices and warranties.

I just wipe the threads with a q-tip soaked in any alcohol, ISO is cheaper. I do it once every couple of weeks, inside and out the threads. The charger needs a cleaning too, once in a while. Unplug it first!

The 510 attys you are using should fit fine. Standard 510 batteries are usually 180 Mah. The ego batteries are 650 or 1000 Mah. Think of a Mah as being like a gallon of gas. 180 gallons or 650 gallons. I'm a heavy vaper and a ego lasts me most of the day but the standards....I'd probably go through 5 or 6. Also, you're probably going to go through attys a lot faster than batteries. Might want to keep a good supply of those.

OMG! That makes sense! LOL Thank you! :)

okay- so its just fatter- I would imagine I could handle that- Next time I buy a battery I will get that kind :) THANK Y'all!!!!

I just keep seeing all these differnt 'kinds' and nothing says what fits what- or what doesnt- and I havent been able to just find a picture of all these models side by side- I am a VERY visual/touchy person- Its VERY hard for me to buy stuff that I havent actually touched-

:)

Well, the USB 510 charger will work with fat batteries.

However, it's a good idea to have a wall adapter. It's safer and faster than using an USB charger alone.

Joye eGo USB Wall Adapter

And don't leave your batteries on the charger unattended, like overnight. Things happen. :)

Just noticed the part about the cart refilling. That got old with us instantly as well. We discovered "smart carts" at 5 for $5. They hold a lot more liquid for not too much money and have a window so you can see the level. We've since gone to the ego t tank system but that's quite a bit more expensive since you've got to have all new atty's and tanks.

But, is what I am doing going to fry the battery? Thats what I need to know- what to do to avoid frying them-

and what is a replaceable battery? Charging batteries is not a PITA to me- refilling these carts is- Thats what I hate doing-

wuzznt me- Thank you- I have been looking at the clear ones too- folks seem to think they are getting better and better- But that does have a better price than the new clear ones- I will put that on my list- :)

I did just order some cartomizers- just normal ones-

Thanks so much y'all!! so as long as I stick with 510 I am good- Kinda like making sure I use AA batteries in the remote- they can be kodak or duracell, as long as they are AA-

Katya, I dont have a USB charger yet- I have been using the wall charger- But will admit I have left a battery on all night-

My goal is to have enough carts/carto's filled before I go to bed at night that I dont have to refill the next morning- But I am OCD like that- LOL
