Howdy,

I am trying to develop a vanilla vape and am using multiple vanilla flavors (5 or so). I find that even after steeping for a week or week and a half the vape is really harsh almost peppery (not nic peppery though) Anyone have thoughts on that? Am I just using too much vanilla. i have heard that high % of vanilla can do this.

thanks for your feedback.

Hashtag got it right. I use sweet cream flavoring. I go for the custardy creamy types anyhow. Ice cream or marshmellow might be a good add in. Before you add more of anything, try diluting with some straight vg first. Dilute gradually until you find the right mix as this will tell you if there is too much flavoring. In this one instance, too much of a good thing will choke you.

Best way to start would be to not combine them all but make 10ml of each separately and start off @ 1.5 % flavoring and add to your liking, then you could actually see if one taste better than the other. Some vanilla's might need you to take the drip tip off and breath a few hours and taste better the next few day's later.

Vanilla, all by itself is actually a rather harsh, bitter flavoring. In foods, it's pretty much always paired with a source of fat; milk, cream, butter, etc. (and usually some sugar or other sweetener.)

This is, of course, a problem for vanilla e-liquid; where fats and oils are really a no-no. It makes a good vanilla vape a hard thing to achieve. While some cream e-liquids might help smooth it out, they don't actually have the fats that real cream does, and because of this, the combination does not always work out quite the way you would expect.

Wish I could give some better advice, but you've chosen a difficult flavor to try to create!
