How do you know you're getting the best connection?

For the flush people...how do you know your atty and mod are connected fully? Obviously theyre connected somewhat because its working, but how do you know theres not a little arcing going on underneath the hood? My new mod doesn't have a floating center pin, so I have to adjust the screw myself, and using the biggest screw my atty seems to barely hit the pin when its tightened down. And my battery seems like its getting pushed up by my switch everytime to make contact. (copper caravela and xl nimbus, both clones) and using vct5's. But that's where my question stemmed from

I've had the 510 post loose contact with the atty a few times in my Nemesis which has a screw adjustment there. I have no idea if it arced as it unscrewed, but it probably did. I don't remember the vape diminish as that process happened, one drag all was well, the next it didn't fire.

I think if the contact was actually arcing the resistance would increase and you would see that as increased voltage drop under load. Easy enough to test with a dripper and a bottom button mod. Use a freshly charged battery and check its voltage outside the mod, then put it in. Take the atty cap off, put one DMM probe on the positive post and the other on a negative post and push down to fire the mod. Subtract the two readings. This must be done at the same coil resistance as your good contact setup was tested at.

I do this check about monthly with my batteries to check them for performance. I know that at 0.5 ohms I get about a 0.4 volt drop with fully charged batteries. That will go up with battery age.

You can add a thin magnet to the battery to add length if needed.

Simple way to tell if the battery is loose - lock the Mod, Shake the Mod
Rattle is battery movement - a no no

I picked up 2 Sigelei 8w, same concept as Caravela. Will not be purchasing any Caravela Mods Pin adjustments are a pain and old school
Now I have 9 Nemesis Mods - Much simpler to keep adjusted.

I like my nemesis, very simple and efficient in assembly. I start head to toe on it, screw my atty flush, then tighten the center pin, then pop in a batteyr, and adjust the switch to fit. tried a panzer at the local b & m, lots of ajustment just ot eliminate rattle, then it still was fickle when firing! Chi Yous are ok too, but require a bit more play
