Hello VVer's

What I'm hoping to do is have everyone put in how they steep and if you can keep them long enough how you store them. Also if you did it a different way at one time and found out it didn't work something went wrong please put that in here too. So we can have the do's and dont's of this wonderful juices all in one place. What I'm hoping is maybe if we find out that most people are doing it in a certain way and it's working great. Or even if someone has a unusual way and its working great that too may be included. Than maybe Annette or Kittypie can put them up on the site in the blog so that they all in one place and help the ones to follow us out. Thank you for your input.

What I do now.
Ok I'll start I put them in a dresser draw and take them out and shake them every day or every other day for a month. If they need to be uncapped I uncap and put a papertowel over them for two or three days. Then put cap back on. Than once the month is up I put them in a cardboard box with a top and put them in the refrigerator. That's my story and I'm sticking to it lol.

Ok this is what I used to do.
I have a black Computer shelf that has doors. I used to do pretty much the same as above but without putting them in the refrigerator. But I came to find that my liquids were disappearing. Come to find out the cupboard was to warm for the juices. I still think Larkfour was stealing my VV juices LOL J/K. Hugzzz sweetie

Ok Its your turn. Please let us all know how you steep and store or even the way you don't steep anymore. Thank you so much for helping the ones to follow us in getting rid of the stinky and on to a better life. Also how to keep this wonderful juice safe. vape HARDY!!!! :vapor:

I look forward to reading the personal steeping methods everyone employs but in general, one big no no is exposing e-liquids to direct sunlight. This can and will turn juice quickly! The same goes for excessive heat. A cool, dark place like V8 uses is perfect and into the fridge they go for longer term storage. Nice thread, V8! :)

Thank you Annette!!! I just thought this would be nice for everyone. I know I had to learn the hard way when I did mine. Plus I may be able to learn something from this too. That's one of my motto's learn something new everyday no matter how old you get, and if you learn more than one thing that day them are bonuses, and life is great.

Big, big fan of steeping VV e-liquids!

On the original Virgin Vapor line, I uncap, cover with a tissue, put in dark place and leave them for 48 hours to allow the alcohol to evaporate. Then cap and shake daily for two weeks or more, depending on the flavor. When the liquid starts to change colors, I know the magic has begun; this is especially true for me on the KCM, I NEVER touch it before two weeks...longer if it's in the Big Bottle. ;)

Since the Absolute line has no alcohol they don't need to be uncapped for alcohol evaporation. I just put them in the dark place and shake daily. Again, at least two weeks is my preference. :)

OK I seen this in another thread on here. Someone had asked if it was Ok to bathe VV liquids in hot water. Annette when your not busy would you please put your thought on this thank you. Also would this apply to the Moon Drops? As I had to do this to them cause running them under water was not working for me.

You are right, s4a, one day you take a whiff and just KNOW! I can also tell by color change. I get so excited when I pull out that dropper and see that the liquid has turned a bit darker. It's a beautiful thing! :)

I've got a couple of bottles on the way and I'm going to try accelerated steeping with a hot water bath. I'll let you know how it works out!

 I think it will be impossibly tempting because all of my diy is failing so miserably and I am so running out of flavors to vape and something that is GOOD at that. All night I kept thinking about my order, and kept thinking about how long im really gonna have to steep it for, and maybe I could try the atty and see the tastes throughout the steeping time just to get a tease now and then  Im super stoked! and I made sure, i went back and looked, and I didn't get the alcohol stuff? I think that was the absolute? I can't remember right now at the crack of dawn, but I remember I didn't and that means I will def. be trying them!! FAST!

I was afraid to leave uncapped too, especially because I have kids and a dog, hmm.
Basically I do as another poster said, I just leave capped, uncap once a day and shake. I leave on a shelf at the pc and after a week I usually start using it.

I'm going to try to find a good spot to do the cap off, like a dresser drawer and see if it works.
Thank you for the info.

LOL, TxTunes, all my DIY efforts are now in a Mason jar labelled "suicide juice". :D

ROFLMFAO Omg thats a perfect name for mine now. At first it was FULL of french toast and caramel failures, now there is some added watermellon and orange cream o_O yeah it would be suscide if I tried that ca-ca stuff now! LOL

You could always put it in a closet? on the top shelf? and do what you do once a day and just pray you dont need something off that top shelf? OR a top shelf in the kitchen the kids dont crawl up to?! or even a safe? like jewelry and important papers? Anywhere away from kids and doggy/babies! are a plus!

Actually, I did end up doing so, ha ha. I put them uncapped in a kitchen cupboard up high, uncapped and so far it seems to be steeping nicely. I give it a little shake here and there, cap it, too for a bit, then uncap again. Looking good.
Thanks muchly. :)

I uncapped mine yesterday, and when I removed the droppers to put in a little dipping dish from one of the restaurants I brought home :/ lol One dropper had 2 TINY DROPS, I rushed and put an atty on, and OMG Hair Standing on end! I am so excited to have another ALL day vape! OMG OMG OMG this stuff is GOOOD!

This is a very informative thread V8! Since I am new to all of this I am trying to learn as much as possible. I saw someone posted about a hot water bath, is that just running under hot water for a bit? I tried that the other day just to make it easier to get into a tank, didn't know it would affect anything. Didn't notice it was any different, but I only did it for a few seconds to warm it up. I haven't yet tried to steep anything just because I didn't know any different and also wanted to try the flavors ASAP! Like I said, I'm still learning, so please bear with me!

campfiregirl, I mentioned doing the hot water bath but I chickened out! From what I read elsewhere on the forum, someone put their bottle in very hot water bath (I'm pretty sure they boiled it then let it cool just a bit), and left it until the water cooled to room temp. The person did it three times within a week, and reported good results. I will have to get a bottle of ca-ca juice to try it (TxTunes, I'm totally stealing ca-ca juice!). Not takin' any chances with my VV liquids. :)

Let us know how it turned out, I'm too afraid to try anything like that yet!

Ive done the hot water bath many times, all it does is thins out the VG juice to make the molecules open, but it doesn't do anything bad that I have ever read to the juice. I have heard people on this forum (not in VV) put it in the micro and I just get :scared: it does the same thing though but I rather do the water bath than nuke my juice! Yeah the ca-ca juice would be a good way to try it on, lol cuz it's not like you would do any damage lol.
