Javyn.....it's funny you bring this up. I'm new to mech mods and have been reading about the safety issue of over draining batteries. I have been Vaping away until amount of vape decreases, indicating to me that it's time to change out the battery. I use 18650's. Today, I noticed that even with plenty of vapor, taste was not there. As usual, I assumed vape tongue, so grabbed a different flavor. Still plenty of vape, but flavor just wasn't there. I changed to a fresh battery and boom, flavor was back! For reference, I'm running .4 ohm dual coils. So, I now have a multi meter in front of me so I can easily read the voltage of the battery in rest and see if I can correlate a voltage that equates to a flavor drop. I'm amazed at the learning curve there is to this hobby. I'm taking a wild guess and predicting the flavor drop is around 3.7 v resting.

I don't measure it, but the vapor production and warmth on my setup (reo grand with Trident v2 at .41 ohms) drops off considerably, and that's long before the danger zone. I did go really long on one battery without realizing it and popped the dead one in my flashlight (which holds my spare battery and is 18650) and the light dimmed automatically because the battery couldn't keep up. That's the only time that's ever happened

I usually vape them down to 3.4-3.7 V, depending on the build. Once I had a 1.8 ohm microcoil build on a 3D dripper (and it was a nice, albeit cool, vape), and I accidentally drained the battery below 3 V before I noticed. That's actually one good reason not to run such a high resistance on a mech.

On any of my older mechs flavor & vape goes out at 3.7 consistently. My newer mech clones, stingray-x and 4nine, I'm running in hybrid mode with much less voltage drop.... and find I'm not replacing the battery until it drops down to 3.5, several times as low as 3.3. More efficiency, but need to be careful running them down too low now.
