Does a vv/vw device emulate a mech accurately?

When regulated mods first hit the market, there was no doubt that you could get a better vape from a mech, but with the crazy fast pwm frequencies and flat DC outputs that are out now, that's just not true anymore.
My favorite build on my rda is the stovetop. Current build is a dual stovetop using 22 gauge kanthal a1, ohms in at .22, on a mech with fresh battery that puts out 80 watts, vapes nicely but ramp up time is pretty slow. On my variant I can run it at 70 watts, and ramp up time is still faster, set to 100, and it's instant. Plus, at 100 watts on that mod, I can go hours getting the same exact vape, while on my mech I'm lucky to get 10 minutes with that build before it starts to decrease.
Another benefit to regulated..... You can build higher ohm coils and increase output power, giving you sub ohm type wattage with way more coil surface area......more surface area.......more vape.
I'm surprised there are so many die hard mech holdouts. Not all regulated devices are ungainly large boxes :p

I'm surprised that no one has manufactured a vv / vw device that looks like a mech. If I could get a nice minimal brushed SS tube regulated with no logos and embellishments, hybrid connection and bottom fire button (perhaps a sapphire glass touch screen button) that output in flat DC up to 60W and handle down to 0.2ohm coils I'd pay a lot for it. The best of both worlds. Or an actually useful kick.

I just personally feel that there has yet to be a regulated device made that looks as good as a simple tube mech can. But of course some people love the appearance of box mods or regulated devices. Taste is wholly subjective. I just see bad finish, ugly lines and branding, stupid buttons that ruin the lines. Provaris look like small, cheap $20 pocket vibrators. The vapor flask DNA40 has a great finish and looks good if you like it's form.

Hi, this is a pretty elementary question, but I'd like your input. I've been vaping for a while, using regulated devices, currently a slightly modified IPV3 as well as an Istick50. I have a couple of subtanks and a doge dripper. I'm considering expanding my repertoire a little to possible include a mech mod, and for sure at least one more dripper. So what I'm wondering:

Given the resistance of a coil, if I fire a regulated device at 4.2 volts, does that give me a pretty good preview of how a mech would fire on a full charge? And 3.7 volts for once it discharges a bit? I usually vape above 4.2 volts, does that mean I will feel that mech mods are underpowered compared to my regulated devices? Sometimes with the doge, I vape at like 4.8 volts, which with my mod tells me comes out to 70 watts with a .33 coil. Would a mech mod deliver less power than this, or is there a part of the equation I'm missing? If I set the device to 4.2, even to 3.7, it's not terrible, it's just not as powerful as I am used to now. I have been experimenting a little and finding that I sometimes prefer the flavor down at 3.7, which with this coil setup shows up at around 42 watts.

Maybe I am looking at it wrong, and have just bought into the high wattage thing cause that was/is the trend? I'm confident that I understand battery safety well enough to operate a mech mod safely, and maybe I'm overthinking it but the ones I like are pretty spendy and I'd like to have some kind of preview of how they'd 'taste' if I can, before pulling the trigger.

Thanks for reading.

Yes.

Yes.
The good thing is once you gradually figure out what build works good at 3.7 to 4.2 volts on your vw, you know that it would work fine if you have to switch to your mech.
