I started vaping in October of last year while still hanging on to a few analogs a day or week. I thought that my taste buds were pretty good even after 37+ years of heavy smoking. I was, after all a pretty good cook. You have to have good taste buds for that to recognize the nuances in flavors. However, after a couple of weeks without analogs, there ARE differences. These days, I'm more of a fast food, junk food person rather than a gourmet, but even those tastes are changing. All of a sudden I find myself addicted to Lay's wavy Hickory Barbecue potato chips. A friend introduced me to Nutella a couple of years ago, and I thought that it was pretty good. About a week ago, I found about 1/4 jar of it and tried it. OMG! It was like it had been "new and improved"!! Being originally from SW Louisiana, I've had my share of (good) pecan pie, but even while still occasionally using analogs on Christmas eve, I had what was the BEST pecan pie I'd ever tasted in Arkansas. On the other hand, my favorite fast food burger for years has been the "cheese whopper". I had one about a week ago and could only think "Ewww! This used to taste good?" So, what about you?? Are you surprised by any foods that you can taste now?

I have only been smoke free for 11 days, okay i did cheat and smoked 1 because my carto died. So to be honest i havent noticed any change in taste buds. Glad to know you are enjoying your new experience with food I just wish i have something to share:(

I know everyone is different but so does it mean it took you about 3 months to taste the difference?

So far the only difference I've noticed is when I pour my first glass of iced tea. I use lemon, and the tang of the lemon seems stronger. Nothing else has changed, at all.

My sense of smell hasn't changed either, that I can tell, except that I'm really more sensitive to the smell of old, stale cigarette smoke. I can smell it a long way away.

Maybe it'll just take a bit more time, but my sense of smell has always been sharp. The nuances have always been there for me.

No, I was still smoking a few analogs for the 3 months. For the past 2 wks, I've been analog free. So, it took a couple of weeks for me to notice.

I think mine have actually gotten less sensitive, as I can't taste a lot of my favorite juices. I'm hoping it's cuz i just started vaping TV's Atomic Cinnacide, which numbs the tastebuds. Gonna take a break from it for a couple days and see if it makes any difference.

We all hit a "flavor wall" with our vapes. The sense of taste comes back. (Although I haven't noticed a "flavor wall" with actual food.
