If the atomizer is getting hot, that indicates it is still working. Super hot (a subjective thing) is not normal. If you are only using Gamucci batteries, no USB pass-through, no manual switch or other power source, the atomizer should not get super hot. The device batteries have an automatic cut-off time built in to limit the length you can draw on it so as to protect the atomizer from overheating.
If your batteries have the new style switch that can be affected by impact or loud sounds, then the battery may be firing on its own causing the atomizer to heat up. I do not know if your device has this type of battery.
In the end, though, atomizers don't last very long, tend to clog up over time leading to a more difficult draw, and then just die. Make sure you have several (how many is always debateable, but at least three or four would be good) atomizers for backup at all times. Most forum suppliers/sponsors have 801/pen-style atomizer that should work fine with your device at a more reasonable cost than from Gamucci.
