How important is steeping?

Hello dear vapers,
I just received my 3 30ml Hangsen concentrates from RTS Vapes. They are Arabic tobacco, No5 and Highway. I just made 30ml of each and have already test vaped the Arabic tobacco and its not bad at all. There is a hint of the French tobacco by Simple Vape (UK), just a hint but I can't say it's exactly the same but pleasant enough. I will not touch the No5 and the Highway for a few more days steeping.

I asked in another thread what the content of the French Tobacco may be and was advised to try these 3 flavours.

This my first mix and I was wondering how much the steeping will effect the taste and how long is a reasonable period to steep?

Just my opinion, YMMV greatly, but I'm discovering that steeping seems to make little difference with single flavor mixes, excepting a bit of "Airing out" for flavors that are heavy on the Ethyl Alcohol. If it's good right off the scale (or fresh from however you're mixing it), it'll still be good after a month, slightly better being a bonus.

I found the Hangsen tobacs need at least 2 weeks steep time. I build my Highway, Desert Ship and No5 100mls at a time at 6% and seed 10% into the new mix, once you see how great and versatile highway and No5 are then 30 isn't enough to have onhand. If you liking the highway then HS desert ship is another good tobac. Since subtanks have showed up at our house, my wife and my juice consumption has increased drastically and trying to keep up with steeped juice. I build all my tobacs and tobacco absolutes as standalones then blend them in different ratios 30mls at a time so my vape is always changing from jug to jug.

Off the shelf flavors (pre-mixed) require little to know steeping. They have sat on a shelf in a warehouse for days or weeks already prior to shipping.

Custom-mixed flavors, from manufacturers who custom mix the liquid to your order may require some steep time. Complex flavors like tobacco, coffee, and some multiple-fruit flavors may need some additional time to steep.

Thanks daleron and cowbell. I'm curious about the end result. Can I expect a significant change in taste after steeping? It tastes pretty decent now but if it will in fact improve with steeping then I'm onto a winner :)
Actually if you like it now I'd go ahead and vape it, some liquids can turn the other way on you and you may not like it as well on down the road.

I had a lot of thoughts on this. Whether this flavor or that flavor needed to be steeped. I just started to buy ahead of time. I bought "blocks" of juices on-line and just put them in separate drawers until I got to them. About every two weeks. So, basically, they just sat, whether they needed it or not, for awhile. That way, I didn't really need to think much about the whole issue. I really think any juice will benefit. I appreciate flavors.

$20+/- bed bath & beyond $8-20 amazon,,, or you can use a mini mixer ,, a juice mixer (for fruit smoothies) a european guy on youtube used a piece of plastic tubing put on his drill,, and another did it with a straw fringing up the bottom and hand spinning the straw (like he was trying to start a fire old style).. i use the bed bath & beyond one,,it uses batteries,, i might buy the juice mixer,, but the tiny blender i have works good too/for larger batches 4-6oz for friends)

Thanks for your input fellow vapers. My 3 mixes have now been steeping since Saturday afternoon. I just changed my Aspire Triton 2's 0.5ohm coil and tried them all again and they all taste yummy. I'm happy with all 3 flavours but I will still pursue my search for the French Tobacco ingredients. In fact RTS vapes have been very helpful and they are going to sample the FT which I am sending them in the post and will try and analyse its ingredients. I am confident with RTS Vapes help I will get there in the end.

Once again, thank you all for your responses.

I've been buying high VG premium USA liquids and yeah they need steeping a LOT. Most of them just taste 'sort of peppery' even as low as 3mg... Only the zero nic ones taste better straight off...

I leave the cap off for a night and also boil a kettle and hold the bottle over the steam to warm it all up, I find that really seems to help.

PITA though, but has to be done... I also find refrigerating works.... it seems any extreme change in temperature up or down seems to do the job of steeping...

I am convinced steeping helps. It's been a week since I made first mix. I made 3 flavours and tried each one on the day they were a made. That were just ok. £3rd day was better and now they're great.

On the 4th I thought Hotwires method of refrigerating was worth a try but instead of just refrigerating I put them in the freezer. I took them out after a couple of hours and when they reached room temperature I put them in the microwave for 20 seconds. I then gave them a good shake and put them away. I repeated this 3 times and now they taste amazing.

What I noticed was on the day I mixed the juice and vaped I liked the No5 most but after steeping Arabic Tobacco taste amazing and so different to the taste I first experienced. I'm really happy with mix and I doubt if I ever buy ready to vape juice.

i use a battery operated coffee frother on small batches and a tiny mixer/blender thing on larger batches. i took the frother into a vape store for them to 'mix' whatever they were vaping. i walked out with free juice and extra batteries.. as they are now trying to figure out how to charge for the mixing.. a the frother/blender are faster and better than my hand/arm shaking it. (ps,, juice tends to foam up a bit,, often turning white,, and looks like another kind of 'juice' ;)

anyway,, keep posting your steeping progress,, i love reading stuff like that! :)

The flavors and juice mature a lot and most think a long steep does indeed make the juice considerably tastier.

The color usually changes a great deal as well , after 6 weeks + the juice i make gets much darker in color , thats when it's at it's tastiest imo.

Regarding Hangsen flavorings , i have only bought their small flavor concentrate bottles and not a ready to vape juice , imo Hangsen is one that looks like it's already been steeped a considerable time when you get it .

The ones i received were excellent right away .

I have one of those that I use to froth my milk for my cappucino. Does it really male a big difference in steeping? I'm really curious. I mix 30ml at a time, multiple mixes of course and sometimes 50-60ml. Would I benefit from using this or is it just for larger mixes?
