Here is a thread with some pros and cons on the sparkplug. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-impression-review-steampunk-sparkplug-3.html

Have you looked at the e-power? I know it's more money but you get a smart charger and protected batteries that are much better and longer lasting that the batts that come with the sp2. Search utube for smok Tech for some videos and check out the e-power and duel coil cartomizers. I have them so naturally I'm recommending them to everyone. lol. Hoosierecig and Madvapes have them among others.

There's a big difference here between the two units.

The SP2 is fully mechanical - no wires, no electronics. When used with protected batteries (a pair of which, with charger, can be had for less than $25) I think it would be hard to beat for solidity. It has an 801 connector but a decent adapter ($3) lets one use any 510 attys or cartos.

The E-Power looks good and the modular approach seems worthwhile - but it is still twice the price of an SP2 and one is stuck at 3.7v

Yes, being stuck at 3.7v is a deal breaker for some. There's rumors of a vv switch assembly being in the works but that's a bird in the bush at this point. The switch being in the bottom was my biggest turn off on the sp2 followed by having to use an adapter for 510 gear. The base sp2 is 20 dollars and by the time you add protected batteries and a smart charger, you're looking at 40 +. The e-power is 46 dollars. There's several good reviews on both units and they both seem like good value for the money.

@ op: What ever you get, I recommend trying the duel coil cartomizers. They're very efficient at producing vapor with no burning. Vape on. :vapor:

edit: There's a review on this link if you're interested. hoosierecigsupply.com
