change out your coils or do you clean it by heating it up and washing it with water and keep using it

It depends how much your juice gunks up the coils.
That's the way I clean mine, dry burn and rinse. Kanthal coils last months.
I just took off an addy that was only used for unflavored. 6mm per day for 5 weeks.
Same wicks, which were still bright white, no gunk on the coils.
When you start to lose flavor, change the wick and clean the coil.
Depending on the juice, it could be every 2-3 days?

24-48 hours, sometimes less, sometimes longer. For cleaning/rewicking.
Coils tend to get changed, just because and randomly, rarely because of need. I have never had a coil fail in use. Had lots of them get damaged and fail at around, install and cleaning.
