I am kinda new to vapping, been 10 days now, and have been tobacco free now for the first time in 20 years from 2 packs a day. I bought a 510 and the blu cig. I have been vapping the 510 a lot, when I say a lot I'm talking all day, I actually vape a whole lot more than if I were smoking. And the reason is because I can, anywhere. But anyhow the atty on the 510 just quit working today after 10 days of heavy vapping, it doesn't make any sound and of course does not heat up, I tried cleaning it, still nothing, is that normal? can I now expect my other atty to go bad also?

Attys are like a crap shoot, Mike. I have a 510 atty going on 3 months old and still going strong,,i have had another one last 4 weeks..Attys are electrical parts and like all electrical parts they will burn out sooner or later. considering the cost of an atty, if you get a couple of weeks or more out of them, you are doing great,,consider the cost of a replaceable atty to a pack of cigarettes, then look at how many packs you would have bought in the period of time you used it, see the savings. vaping is
one of the best things to happen to me,, helped me kick the Analog habit..so in all a 5 dollar atty is well worth what we pay for them and the cost and life saving experience we get from them.
Hope this helps,
Regards

Mine never make a noise-They just quit. No specific time frame of how long one will last. I do know that the darker juices are harder on the atomizers. I dedicate an atomizer for light colored juices and one for darker colored juices. The one for the lighter colored juices always last longer. They are considered to be a disposable part of the e-cig. Keep extras on hand at all times. Wish I had a better answer for you mikecup.
I blow mine out at night and leave them to drain over a papertowel.

I've been vaping for 4 months, heavily (like, constantly), and have yet to blow one. I give them an alcohol bath when they're starting to taste funky or not functioning up to par, and one that was in pretty bad shape I modded for dripping by removing the bridge and the wicking... but it's still going strong.

I think the biggest thing to remember here is, just like a cartomizer, don't let them dry out. Keep them wet at all times. And yes, it seems the darker juices "funkify" them a lot faster than lighter ones. You'll be surprised at how long they can last when properly cared for. See MisstressNomad's video series (it's a sticky now); she'll show you one good way to clean them.

...but always keep spares around. I have 5 on hand, still in the original factory packages. Ya know, just in case of FDA or zombie attack.

Longest i have had a atomizer last so far is a month and almost 3 weeks. The quickest one has has gone out on me less then two hours. Really hard to predict how long one will go. Not sure if vaping style has anything to do with it , but from reading around i am harder on them then most. I now keep plenty of extra ones on hand just in case. Some places sell 5 packs of them that are usually the best deal aside from ordering a bunch from china.

Having more on hand will also let you switch out flavors without having to clean the atty out. Some flavors just dont mix well so that is another reason i like to have plenty of extras on hand.

About 3 weeks ago I had a normal 901 atty IT WAS NOT LR last only 3 days so 2 weeks would have been great. I have a 801 atty that I got at the same time same vendor and it still kicks my .... so it really does very on how long it lasts some people have had way better luck with cartomizers I had a 6 pack of KR808s that lasted me a good 4 months only because of miss use of the first 2 (I forgot to keep the wick wet) so I would really suggest finding out what is best for you.

hey hiram13pm,
alcohol bath? you mean like rubbing alcohol? I hope you don't mean my absolute thats behind my bar!
I have seen a few videos on youtube on cleaning tecniques, I guess I should get into some kind a routine of cleaning, thanx

I use Everclear, or a clone thereof. A half-pint is 5 bucks and lasts a long time when you look at it as cleaning fluid. For drinking, it's rum or absinthe for me. BTW, Totally Wicked's "Absinthe" flavor is a damn good approximation of Lucid or La Fey. My e-cig collection is growing faster now than my Absinthe spoon collection, and that's saying something.

Although some *do* use isopropyl (only on attys, and always letting it dry completely), something about the additives makes me shy away. And you can't get stronger than Everclear anyway... 95% pure.

I'm in ohio, I have not heard of Everclear. What is it? and where can I get it? It must be ok for you because I have had suggestions to use it as a delutent for diy mixing.

EverClear is alcohol should beable to get it in a liquor store. Really powerful stuff it is 190 proof. Golden grain is also pretty powerful not sure if you have that in your liquor Stores. Not even sure you can substitute with golden grain for DIY mixing. But it is 190 proof too.
