Just wondering how long do rda's last? I've tried SmokTech minis, no good. some generic stainless steel which I drilled out the airholes, 3 months and still going, dying tho.....
I'm planning to get a Veritas, just a bit scared that I won't last as long as I would want it to........ because I'll be dumping quite some cash in for it.

smoktech mini.

not much can really go wrong with an rda; I guess the first thing is the O-rings.

you can get 50packs of replacement O-rings cheap

but it occurs to me if you think your rda's are 'dying' you're just making the common mistake a lot of people make which is misdiagnosis.
It's probably just your batteries dying.

If you want an rda built like a tank with a screw on topcap instead of using orings, there are a few; example, the magma:

This one is $12 at fasttech; I have one.

An rda is a very simple chunk of metal; you should need to dump quite some cash in for it.

First thing I thought when he said his RDA is 'dying', is maybe his battery is the one thats dying, not the RDA. RDA's dont really die, they just break. Could be that whatever you're using to power that RDA is dying. Battery might be ending its lifetime. An RDA is just a piece of metal that helps put the current through the coils, like other posters said, you change the coil and wick in the RDA. It is either your Coils or your Battery that's dying I believe.

Sorry late replies :)
The brass pins wear off after say, three months? Anodized alum tarnishes a bit, the RDA has deposits of scents of other juices......
Just trying to find out that Veritas, under proper care, wouldn't have that happening right? It's 304 stainless after all....

One more question, does old coils affect vapour production? New coils (I vape at .7) seem to have good taste for only five days max, even after re-wicking every one and a half day.

I'm quite sure it's not the batteries, still hit hard enough with my other stainless-based RDA, but yes battery life has shortened noticeably.

Is Magma a good one? how much would you rate it, in terms of vapour, flavour, worth for the price?

The local vape shop (a stall, actually) has some original magmas in stock, costly tho.

I wash my attys with soap and water when I replace the coils - and just rinse well with just water when I re-wick

Coils life really depends on the gauge you use and the wattage you use in my experience

I load a bunch of extra rayon in my attys then pull a bit through the top of the coil every few fills and clip it off to keep it clean and not full of the black carbonized stuff :p Then when I start running low on rayon in there I pull whats left all out -- dry burn the coils , gently flake free the carbonized crud, and then rinse off the atty with water and refill with rayon.

I replace my coils about once a week or whenever they start getting brittle or start to heat unevenly.

Been vaping a pair of $15 Veritas clones for over six months and they show 0 signs of wear, i imagine the authentic made from true 304 would be pretty much indestructible.

Clones are usually the same material too, just might not be too accurately done. That's China, they could probably copy anything if you gave them a copy.
