Mine broke after 4 months (the 3.v inline battery one), I thought it might be the battery but I suspected (and was correct, after changing to a new battery) that it was me rolling over the cable in my PC chair all the time. Oh well - they arent that expensive to replace..
:D

there's a thread here someplace of a guy who just ran a wire bypassing the battery and it still worked....

Both my 510 manual passthrough and my OG V4L manual passthrough have been kicking for almost a year.

I've heard stories that sometimes they kick out earlier, such is the nature of the beast.

However with autos, anything is possible. An overfilled cartomizer may have been the culprit.

But, the problem with batteries/passthrus is that there really is no actual shelflife. Reports differ WILDLY from one user to the next.

If you get a MANUAL passthru you should be ok for many of the issues facing passthru users.

I'm going on a year with my PureSmoker manual PT. Still works like the day I got it. It cost a little more but saved me a lot in the long run. I would go through the cheap ones quite often and you never knew when they were going to break down.

My advice is to spend a little more now and purchase a good one like the PureSmoker PT. It is very reliable and extremely well built.

Hope that helps!

Are you guys using genuine products? I'm looking for a PT and didn't which to get.

Get one with a 6 months warranty - Janty or heaven gifts just to name two that I know of.... mine lasted for 5 months before I quit using them - still have them, though. They'll be for sale when I get around to it.

Thanks for the advice. I never really thought about checking what kind of warranty different PT's have.

I'm for manual pts. Like the manual battery, you don't have to suck your cheeks hollow to get a decent drag off of it. There is also the security of not having to worry about killing it with excessive juice. It is a lot betterfor vapor, and the atties are not over taxed. The pt is a great invention. And it can lengthen the life of batteries by replacing them at home.

The automatic ones seem to go bad faster than batteries. Mine seem to go because the switch membrane gets gummed up with fluid. This may be because the pass through develops more heat than the battery, so I find myself dripping more often.

I have made a manual passthrough for my DSE901 based on the Nicostick (check out the Modders forum under battery mods). I also bought a USB adapter that plugs into my car lighter outlet. At 5v, 1 amp, it generates alot of vapor and never goes bad.
