How long do your attys last?

I keep reading where attys are lasting a week or two? How often do most last?
Also when someone says their atty 'blew up' is it just a figure of speech, or can they really blow up?

Blowing up an atomizer is just a figure of speech... well, kind of.. You can kill them pretty easy if you abuse them... If you clean them with water and don't dry them out I have heard stories of them making a popping sound and then stop working. I have atties that are 7 and 8 months old though and still work about 85-90% as good as they were new. Just gotta take care of them a little bit here and there.

I average around 2 months on an LR atty before the "blow up" and tear huge chunks of flesh off my face. Just kidding, they can make a popping sound and that's about it. Most of the time they just stop working.

Two of the 510 attys I've been using for 2 months now are dying or dead. With my new attys I use I will try to blow them out and clean them more often cause they get 'lots' of crud built up on the coil.

i kept reading on this site that the attys can pop, and blow up... so i thought maybe they might occasionaly do that-like a mini explosion. Started getting nervous

Yeah, nothing to worry about.. the coil is a lot like a light bulb filament ... so when it pops and dies its probably like when a light bulb does that.

make sure to keep those puppies wet when your vaping. i clean mine like twice a day just by blowing out the access stuff. they last me atleast 2 months

I have 5 out of the 6 original atomizers that I bought back in September. The only reason I lost one is because I destroyed while trying to debridge it. I blow them out at least once a day and once a week or so I'll soak them in 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for 15 minutes and let them dry overnight. I also use them in a rotation so one isn't being used more than the others.

I use an M401 which probably doesn't burn as hot as some PV's.

I been vaping almost 2 months and using my original attys, alternating 2. Every weekend I swish the used one in a jar of vodka (grain alcohol would be better but still an edible substance). I leave it in the alcohol overnight, scoop and flow some of the jar alcohol through it the next day to get out anything dissolved, shake out hard and set to dry on paper towels. The next weekend i switch to that one.

There are some substandard 510 clone no-brand attys around and I think people may have the most trouble with those? No problems here so far.

I also think sometimes new users might overheat their attys because they aren't used to the symptoms of dry cart, needing to reposition their cart stuffing, atty that needs cleaning, and even almost-discharged battery can cause more dragging and get the atty kind of hot. I pay attention to the outside heat of my atty. If it is getting too hot then something is not right. If the juice was flowing to it well then it wouldn't be so hot.

I have a similar story on my attys.
I'm 3 for 4 out of my original atty's and the 4th is actually still usable, I dewicked and debridged it then gave it a thorough cleaning and a couple burns- its works fine for dripping and is my emergency extra spare atty. I'm using cartos now, but I still use the atty's to try new flavors and when I feel like dripping.

To the OP: keep em clean and keep em wet and they'll last a long time. Incidentally this advice also applies to cartos.
