Out of curiosity, how often do you:

A. Blow out your atty
B. What prompts you to blow it out?
C. How often do you clean your atty? And what method do you use?

-Dave

a. Rarely if ever
b. After awhile atty performance slips. Sometimes a but of juice accumulates.
c. If blowing it out doesn't correct issue.

A. Once every few days or when I flood it.
B. When the draw becomes a little stiff or occationally when I do a drastic switch in flavor ie caramel/coffee to fruit, etc
C. I used to clean my attys every 2 days during that first week, then I moved to once a week, now I really only clean them once every two weeks or when blowing them out doesn't work well enough.

My method for cleaning...
Soak for like 15-20 min in iso, run the alcohol through the atty until it comes out in a nice stream. Then rinse several times with warm water and blow them out. Then dry burn, rinse with water again and dry burn again. No setting out to dry necessary! Basically I follow Highping's method, except with an intial iso soak. Highping's method

I used to use isopropyl alcohol earlier, but found out after some experiments that using hot water is quite effective. Unless you use very "thick" liquids (eg chocolate) it's very simple and efficient. After soaking in hot water I use careful dry burning method. Works fine with both old type small 510s attys and big cone type, too.

A. Blow out your atty

When I first open them and every couple days or so after.

B. What prompts you to blow it out?

When they start to get a stiff draw or show leakage which is not proportional to the amount of liquid dripped

C. How often do you clean your atty? And what method do you use?

When I see the performance drop off significantly. I use the coke method (except with RC Cola because the pH is the lowest of all colas) and vodka soaks (if I need to clean a bad flavor out of an atty)
