Hello,

I have previously used standard 510 Atomizers and I am going to be moving towards the LR atomizer.

I heard they dont last long... 3-7 days on average.

Do they really last this long? I heard before people saying Standard Atomizers last 7-14 days but my average Atty lasts 1.5-2 months. I blow them out every other every night and do the occasional Dry Burn depending upon "feeling" such as lack of flavor or vapor, though I have killed a few this way but I dont think I will do this with a LR atty since I heard they are very easy to kill.

I bought 40 LR atomizers from greenhouseone 7 months ago, I think I killed 2 by dry burning, I trashed around 5 of them right away after just a few puffs, no good at all and with time I trashed around 14 of them, couldn't get a good taste with my juice with them anymore with time.

I rotate them around 1 per week, they're still very good, still have 21 left. There was one that I used for a month before it died. Might have been the fact that I used it on a 5 volts for fun :)

My latest cleaning is now : put them for 1-2 minute in boiling water, then it's isopropanal alcohol at 99% for like 2-3 hours, again boiling water 1-2 minute, blow them real hard and quick dry burn each of them to make sure they are dry.

I bought some 1.7 901s from vaporkings and the last 2 last about a day! :( This last one I used on a 3.7 box mod and dripped.. it just quit, no warning or anything! I'm a bit bummed.. this is getting expensive! As for cartomizers, a day or two is the max. at least they are cheaper than attys but the taste just isn't there like an atty. Maybe I just got some bad ones cause used to when I used 510's I could get one to last weeks, they were standard resistance. I just now started using a 2.9 atty (on a vv box) so we'll see how these do. Over the last year I've read posts from people who say they go through attys like crazy and I always felt sorry for them cause I didn't have that problem. Now it looks like I do. This last 1.7 atty, I didn't use it at high voltage (3.7) and I kept it wet by dripping.

Dark juices will affect attie performance. I know it is said dry burning will kill an attire but with dark liquids it seems the best way to extend attie life. Look for ressurection mod on this site. If you have atties you think are allready dead then it can't hurt to use that dry burn method. I was trashing thru atties like water, now most last me a month or more. If they don't work after dry burning then no loss, they were allready considered dead. Also if an atty gets sluggish try it on a five volt. I am just a noon but this has worked for me.

What battery and PV do you use?
What liquids (PG/VG ratio) and flavors?

It's just too hard to say.
Some PG/VG ratios are harder on an atty than others.
Some flavorings used in some liquids are harder on an atty than others.
Some batteries/PVs are harder on them than others (Some pulse, some don't, and so forth).

So far my longest lasting atties have all been HV 801 atomizers from 3 Ohms and up. I've got SLB, Beauway, and Nhaler customs that have been going strong for a while now. I do vape them between 4.5v and 6v, and I alternate between a couple of PVs. If one feels pretty hot to the touch, I set it down to rest and pick up the other. These HV 801s have outlasted anything else I've ever tried.

The longest lasting LR Atty I've ever had was a Cisco 1.7 Ohm 510 from Nhaler. It's been going for months on a 3.7v Boge V2 battery. It's probably seen about 3 ounces of a very clean all PG liquid vaped through it. Maybe I just got lucky...it's the only atty of this type I've ever owned.

I do have one SmokTech 2 Ohm 510 atty that's been going for months and it still vapes like a champ...but...it has climbed to nearly 4 Ohms resistance over all this time! Yep...VV is a nice thing to extend the life of atomizers :) With a 3.7v battery, I do have to admit this same atty was worth only about 2 weeks of dripping (around an ounce of liquid). With the Darwin, it starts out at around 4 Ohms and drops to 2 Ohms over time during the draw...The Darwin regulates the voltage through out the draw...so it starts at close to 5v and ends up much lower by the time I take my finger off the button.

Seriously, consider investing in a Variable Voltage/Power battery set-up. Atties and cartos that still work, but not very well on my eGo batteries, keep churning out fine vape at higher voltages through quite a few ml more liquid. I no longer bother trying to 'clean' atties with a VV setup.

9+ months ago I started out with 7 XL atty's and am now down to 4. I also think dry burning reduces the life of an atty so I quit cleaning my atty's that way and only use an ultrasonic cleaner now. JMHO

I wish I could get that life span - Lucky to hit a week - What juice are you using - Maybe I need to switch - Thanks!

I have found some atties stand up better to cleaning and dry burning than others do. Joye for me were the worst, while I have gotten allot of miles out of ikens, with cisco spec close behind. Also, it helps to bump them to 5 volts when cleaning does not ease the sluggishness. Can still get 2-3 more weeks or longer out of them then.
