I discovered e-cigs, they are pretty new to my neck of the woods, but my roommamte ended up buying one before I oculd. I have mine on order.

He loves his, its a smoking everywhere brand e-cigarette 2.0.

His only complaint is that he doesn't beleive the liquid last as long as advertised. They said one cartridge is equivelent to one pack of cigarettes, but he beleives he is running through them much faster than that.

However, because there is no way to tell when you have smoked one cigarette's worth he also smokes his e-cig differently than his analogs. He takes a couple of puffs and puts it back in his shirt pocket through out the day. Couldn't he be inadvertly smoking much more now with this method which would explin why he runs through carts so fast?

Or do these carts really just not last as long as advertised?

Welcome Cherry-
You really need to take those ad's with a grain of salt.

Suppliers have a tendency to blow a little ehh-*smoke*
(vapor) of their own.

It depends on the kind of device you're using; i.e. the 801 has a larger cartridge than the 901, and so on.

Some others here can give you a better idea about analog equivalents, etc.

First off, he probably does not have a Smoking Everywhere 2.0. He probably has a Smoking Everywhere GOLD. If the coil of the atomizer extends up past the metal tube then he does indeed have a 2.0 but if the coil of the atomizer is recessed inside the metal tube it is the GOLD he has.

Either way, the super mini style that he has is the smallest cartridges of any of the e-cigs out there. His cartridges should realistically last about 30 to 50 drags, draws, or puffs, whatever you want to call it. You could certainly stretch more out of a cart, I know I did when I first started but the experience is just not as satisfying and could potentially damage the atomizer if it is allowed to get to dry.

So how many cigarettes does that make? Well a typical cigarette is around 15 drags. I think you can get the math from there. :(

Wow! Thats only about 4 cigarettes per cart! That is some HUGE misrepresentation there.

It may still work for me though as I would like to cut down on the amount I smoke even with the vap. I'm at a pack a day analog right now and my e-cig is in the mail.

My pickle is, they have a kiosk at the mall here that sells them....But I work as a security officer at that mall and I don't know if any one feels me on this...I hate going to work when I'm off. It puts me at risk for being asked to work. lol. So I order my stuff online. That means I need to try and order enough to last for two weeks, between paychecks. My plan was to only use the e-cig when I'm REALLY feeling the craving. Smokers know what I'm talking about. That point right before you get to angry dizzy hulk mode. This is a much longer period of time than how often I actually smoke. I need trigger control. When I'm listening to music or on the phone I tend to chain smoke and thats where most of the pack goes.

This is why pretty much everybody on this forum just buys liquid and refills cartridges.

At $2 a pop for fresh cartridges it can get very expensive. Getting just liquids and refilling your own will probably cost closer to $2 per day even if you vaped like a fiend.

Check out the sticky post by Spikey at the top of the new members forum. It is an hour long indoctrination to e-smoking that will help you to understand a lot of what is discussed on this forum.

I am going to add a link to it in my signature.

I think they probably go on the fact that the juice is 18mg so must be equal to 18 cigarettes. Yes, that's true. 1ml of the liquid would have the same amount of nicotine as 18 cigarettes, but you'll get nowhere near 1ml of liquid in the cartridge. This is why it's better to buy the liquid and refill the cartridges yourself as it doesn't matter then how many cigarettes each cartridge lasts for as you can just top them off with more liquid as required. It's also much cheaper doing that than constantly buying cartridges.

I comendered one of my roomates empty cartridges to try and pull it out and see how easy it would be to refil. It looks like it can be done pretty easy. Its the deep in type, the kind that she used a paperclip to remove in the video. However, he has a GOLD (waldo was right) I did order a 2.0. So I don't know if there will be a big difference or not.

Yeah I kind of hope so because I purchased 2.0 instead of GOLD because the layout of the site suggested that 2.0 was the new model. funny thing is till I came here I thought I had researched this stuff decently well. Looks like I get to be todays bumbling new idiot. Thats cool, forum life is as such. This week of the village idiot, next week I'll be giving my "expert advice".

Three questions about that:

1. Wouldn't that mean I am carrying around liquid and e-cig all day? What about storing conditions for that liquid? I don't know if I like the thought of carrying around a bottle of nicotine solution in my pocket when I'm running errands on a 90 degree day in the summer.

2. Wouldn't dripping have a higher risk of getting liquid in your mouth than using a cart would?

3. Without insiting an argument, and Waldo your my boy don't get mad for me asking but...I just read a post (or argument whatever you want to call it) where someone mentioned the fact that dripping could result in killing the atomizer a lot quicker. Is this true?

One more question on dripping:

How long can I expect a basic dripping (I assume like two drops from context, am I correct?) to last? If possible give me an estimate in analogs. Will two drops directly on the atomizer last about as long as one cigarette?

In that case, how long will a bottle of liquid cost me if I'm just dripping?

I have not experienced any problems and I do not really see it as a rampant problem in my reading of the forum.

Opinions vary regarding maintenance. I do very little for maintenance. Basically all I do is if an atomizer seems to be performing weakly I will run it under the kitchen sink with the water as hot as possible. I hold the atomizer with a pliers and give it about 5 minutes with the water running through the atomizer in each direction. I do not let the water continuously beat down on one specific spot but moving it up and down in the water stream. Then I leave it standing on a paper tower with the thread side facing up and I let it dry over night.

It is also a good idea to have a few atomizers.

BTW
If you get the E-cig and it is a 2.0 instead of a GOLD you might want to consider an exchange with SE. They are very reasonable if you need to exchange stuff but not so reasonable if you want to return it.

DW

EDIT
2 drops lasts about 10 drags, give or take a drag or two depending where you decide at what point the vapor has become to weak.

My #1 recommendation in all of e-smoking is this.... you might find it to be a good way to get into liquids...http://www.johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/product_p/0069.htm
