How long for cartos to dry? Yet ANOTHER question

I've cleaned my empty cartos with hot water and set them out on a paper towel to dry.

Now, how long should I wait before refilling them? I've watched the Doctor Vapor videos but I don't think he gives an idea of how long it takes. Or did I miss that part?

If they are standard poly filled cartos, and the mouth piece rubber tip is removed, I put them on a paper towel in the oven at about 200 - 220f for an hour.

You don't want to go much higher, our the plastic wrapper will shrink.

I can't say how long but I've seen videos of people stuffing the open end with a paper towel. It's supposed to help wick the water from the filler and speed things up. Sounds good in theory so you might want to try it.

Thanks I think I'll try the paper towel trick first. I'm afraid to put them in the oven as my first attempt at cleaning cartos by boiling them was a disaster since I fell asleep while they were on the stove! Took several hours to get that smell out of my kitchen! LOL

When I tried the cleaning of the cartomizers, I let them air dry for a day or two.
I tried the cleaning thing several times, several different ways.
I did not find the cleaning made enough difference to go thru the trouble of
cleaning them.
I now toss and go on to the new cartomizer. If I get 4 days out of one, I'm happy.

I clean my cartos by just rinsing them under hot running water in the sink, then I blow them out really well and let them dry out for at least two days. I have cartos that have lasted for a month or more and some that I just end up throwing in the trash after a couple of weeks.

You can dry them faster by "dry burning" them using a manual battery. Just hold the button down for 5 secs and wait a few secs then hold it down again. Repeat this several times untill most of the sizzling sound is gone. Be carefull not to do it too long or you risk burning it.

A couple days is what it takes to air dry them usually. You can speed this up a bit by sitting them near something warm, I've heard of people putting them by their computer vents...air flow + heat=faster drying

If you switch to cartomizers they can be dried in a few seconds w/ help of PGA and shop vac.
