I've had unopened bottles, and unopened pre-filled cartos for over a year that were as good as new.

If they were opened and partially used, all bets are off. If there is nothing growing in there, I'd shake and vape.

If they are opened, then what would you say is the good span before things start growing in there?

    Thats kinda a scary thought!!

As I said, all bets are off. What is the environment? What was the likelihood of contamination? Was the product contaminated before you got it?

The old adage was, "If in doubt, throw it out." but people don't like to do that.

Pretty much all propylene glycol types (including the one we use) are good for 2 years if stored at room temperature and unexposed to sunlight. Here is an exerpt from the MSDS of DOW:

    MPG and DPG are susceptible
    to sunlight (UV) catalyzed (partial)
oxidation in the presence of air.

    Such partial degradation can
    negatively impact product quality,
    evidenced by increased acid,
    aldehyde, carbonyl and water
    contents, and product odor.

    Based on results from continuous
    stability test programs, Dow guarantees
a shelf life of two years for its
PG USP/EP when stored in factory-
    packed and -sealed containers, under
    normal warehouse conditions and
    at temperatures below 40°C. For
    Dipropylene Glycol LO+ Grade
(DPG LO+), offered by Dow, a shelf
life of one year is guaranteed under
    the same conditions.

Thanks for all the input! The bottles were opened but stored in a room temperature and dark area. I was inclined to throw them out. Considering shelf life and contamination possibilities I suppose it comes down to a risk vs reward decision. I'll give it a go. YOLO right?

    You Obviously Love Owls?

While the PG/VG will last, the nicotine and flavorings may break down which may cause flavor/sweetness loss or weakening (or strengthening, not sure which) of the juice over time.

I thought I would update this for anyone interested.

I had 4 bottles of various flavors and from various vendors. All of which were about 8 months old. I have not vaped a couple ml of each of them and discovered they are pretty much exactly how I remember them. I don't detect any lack of flavor or sweetness (however this assumes I remember correctly). They still smell very aromatic. All in all, it appears that at least some juices last quite a long time.

    Thanks All!
