Pretty much all propylene glycol types (including the one we use) are good for 2 years if stored at room temperature and unexposed to sunlight. Here is an exerpt from the MSDS of DOW:
MPG and DPG are susceptible
to sunlight (UV) catalyzed (partial)
oxidation in the presence of air.
Such partial degradation can
negatively impact product quality,
evidenced by increased acid,
aldehyde, carbonyl and water
contents, and product odor.
Based on results from continuous
stability test programs, Dow guarantees
a shelf life of two years for its
PG USP/EP when stored in factory-
packed and -sealed containers, under
normal warehouse conditions and
at temperatures below 40°C. For
Dipropylene Glycol LO+ Grade
(DPG LO+), offered by Dow, a shelf
life of one year is guaranteed under
the same conditions.
