Just finished my first cotton-wicked coil... it's a lot thinner than the silica I've been working with. How much wick do you all leave down in the drip well? Just enough to lay in the bottom, or enough to wrap around?
I'm asking because it seemed like I had to put a good 8-10 drops in there to get it going initially, and I'm wondering if a) there's too much wick and it's soaking up all the juice, b) there's not enough and I'm just filling the drip well, or c) I'm just not used to how much juice cotton holds.
Oh, I used cotton ball, vertical coil (also first w00t!), and I did it wrap-around-a-toothpick-and-thread-the-wick style. Is it hard to hand-wrap on cotton without doing it too tightly?
