How long to dry the ultramax RES after cleaning

I remember seeing something on this but can't find it for the life of me. I just cleaned up my ultramax and washed the res. How long should the res dry before reassembly and filling.

There isn't a set time since ambient conditions vary, but I would say a good test of whether it is dry or not would be to rest it against a paper towel and see if it still has water in it. A hair dryer, setting it in the sun, etc would speed this up nicely.

I do something similar. Immediately after washing, I grab a ½ sheet of paper towel and roll the wick along the edges until no water is absorbed by the paper towel. Wait a few minutes and recheck. Then I just put the wick lying down in front of a fan to get at any water that's left. After an hour, it's dry and ready for juice.

You guys are much more careful with yours than I am. I simply run it under water for about 30 seconds. Then I blot it with a paper towel a few times, then put more liquid on it and go. I dont let it sit at all or use a hair dryer or anything like that. I havent had any problems with doing it that way so far. But like I said, I have a 7 month old son plus working on keeping orders going out same day to keep y'all happy doesnt give me much time to do anything else, especially wait around for an hour to make sure my RES is dry.

OK - good to know it's not too critical - thanks for that.

Have a three year old here that's stuck in the "terrible twos" stage... I just can't stand any watering down lol.

After all this talk about cleaning out the RES I just want to point out once again that the RES ceramic is VERY FRAGILE. You dont need to let it sit out for hours to get it completely bone dry or anything like that, but you do need to be careful with how you handle it. For instance, if you blot it off with a paper towel, be careful not to push on it too hard to where it cracks. Just a heads up for those of you just checking out this thread.
