Hi, I was a former 40 camel a day, for almost 30 years. for six weeks now, I am vaping and I have read threads, info, etc.

What I am missing is some sort of history from people who have vaped themselves from - say - 18mg/ml down to zero, or say 6mg? I know there is no alternative for the throat hit at this moment (save as to chilli liquids or something).

How long will that take? I am still on my initial dose of both nic content (18mg) and vape through 30mls a week. I am not worried about that, not yet anyway, but I want to reduce this and everytime I go lower on the nic content, I am missing the flash...

thanks, Falke

Well after 2+ years of using 36mg I have finally reduced down to 30mg, lol..... Anything lower than 24mg and I will just quit... Whats the point I figure? For me its all about my nic/fix...... TH and taste is where Im at..... Instead of lowering my nicotine levels to low where I get no satisfaction I am tring to control my ml per day. Since Ive gone to a VV Provari ml consumption has incresed... Today Im tring to limit it to 1-3ml bottle of juice.........

It depends really;

I started with 24mg/ml to 6 months later at 12mg/ml but I find that I vape a lot;

Got a couple stardusts with 24mg/ml in them and if I use them,I vape way less.

On the other hand,I prefer the taste/TH of 12mg/ml.

I should logically find the best of both in 18mg/ml but not really.

So I stick to 24 and 12.

matter of preference

There are a number of threads out there concerning this topic. I think everybody's different. Personally, I'm not as concerned about weaning myself off of nicotine (it's the only vice I have, after all) as weaning myself off of cigarettes. Nicotine, in and of itself, isn't anymore harmful to you than caffeine (Okay, I take it back; I have 2 vices, lol).

There are posts on ECF where people started with 11mg and went to 2mg or 0mg in a couple of weeks with no problems. And some have posted the throat hit is still fantastic even with 0mg nicotine strength eliquid. Since you have been vaping for six weeks, you could drop down to 2mg or 0mg and just go from there. You are already past the timeframe that the medical community states you need to wean yourself off of smoking. It's been reported on here that nicotine creates health issues for some people.

+1 for the needing to pay attention to how much you vape as well as the nic strength. If you really do want to cut down on nic the easiest way is to vape less. You can also try lower nic if that's what you want but this won't help you if you end up vaping more, as is often the case. So it's really all up to what you want, there's no real need to cut down unless you are feeling like you are getting too much nic, the best way though is to let your body decide how much it wants and at what strength. If you are off the analogs you already have won the battle.

Well heres my thing, im trying this so I can stop dipping. I have a 36 mg bottle in the mail, right now Im using 24 and if this was smoke Id be a train lol. I was chewing a can a day. One chew for 30 min is equivalent to 4 full cigs. I am working on my 3rd day with this device and I have had six dips with snus in that time frame. Believe me, that is cuttin it WAYYYYY down for me.

I really dont care about throat hit, Im not a smoker, I just want the max nicotine I can get till i can wean myself down. I want to break the chew habit first, then Ill break the nicotine habit.

Im really hoping that once the intial need to have a chew in all the time subsides i will slow down on the rest of it. Im probably "smoking" 3-4 packs a day right now lol.

Ill let you know once I start backing the nicotine down how that goes. Ultimately I want to stop vaping too.

This has been a slightly expensive endevour to get started but I think in the long run it will be alot cheaper and better for me.

Can tell you my story. After more than 20 years of smoking a pack per day (at least 22 cigs pall mall red) I tried to start with 24 mg. First day (one afternoon to be correct) my breast hurted so bad. My luck we have a shop nearby so I bought 18 mg. Next day I went to the shop again and bought 12 mg liquid. That was good for the start and four months have pasts. I reduced to 6 mg 2 weeks ago and its ok. Still vaping the 12 mg leftovers from time to time but the 6 mg is my all day liquid right now.
But everyone is different. If your aim is to reach 0 mg - do not forget that there are people who manage that without vaping. If you feel ready - do it.
