Today is day 5 no analogs I was over a pack a day full strength smoker for 16 years. I bought the 8mg carts (smoke 51) and it just doesnt seem to be enough. I am cranky, extremely irritable, it seems Im vaping constantly but still left wanting. I refuse to break down and smoke. please someone tell me this will get better.

Yeah...if you were that strong a smoker, I think you should probably bump it up a bit and then turn it down...Seems to me you are suffering some withdrawal.
I would think if you continue to vape with that strength you might be pretty good in another 5 days or so.
I had the same issues on the patch when i tried to quit before. I picked the lowest strength (2mg because I didn't want tons of nicotine while I slept) but I was still smoking. 1/2 - 3/4 pack a day M lights for 20 years.

Sorry to tell you this but using carts, 8mg strength and a smoke 51 are why you feel the way you do. You need to get a good manual switch PV, liquid to top off/refill the carts with and a nic strength of at least 24mg based on how you smoked. For a good PV I would either go with the Joye 510 or one of the premiere models:

The Big Five in Long Battery Life Manual Switch PV’s:

Screwdriver: ecigscrewdriver.com
The Black Screwdriver Kit / Totally Wicked eLiquid / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop
Prodigy: PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!
GG: THE GG
JantyStick: Janty USA
LV/ZiMoshi: Zi Moshi Home

For juice I would suggest one of these venders:

RUYAN Brown e-cigar with 25pc Cartridges - RUYAN e-cigar kit - Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop

Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes! : Home

www.eastmall.net - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd

The problem is these are the cart/atty disposables..there is no stronger that i can find. I tried refilling them with ejuice someone let me borrow (not sure the level) but it tates burt and awful. The mood swings are really bad!!! and its not pms OMG someone would be dead...LOL not sure what to do???

Hi Crystal, the very same thing happened to me when I first started with vaping. I too, smoked over a pack a day. I started with 11 mg. and never felt satisfied. My personal opinion is that buring the nicotine and vaping it makes a difference in how our bodies absorb it, but that is just an opinion. I would try a higher level of nicotine. When I switched to 18 mg. I felt much better. Then I found this forum and that helped me tons as I found so much info! Now, after 4 mo. I am at 16 mg and doing fine. I enjoy vaping a million times more than I ever enjoyed smoking.

You should be able to find the atomized carts somewhere online with a higher level of nicotine. Also, check the classified ads here on the forum, sometimes you can get a good deal. There are places where you can buy a pen style for around $40.00. Less cost than a carton of cigarettes. If you are interested you can pm me (and no I am not a supplier or affiliated with any) I can tell you where I have had good luck buying.

Also, when I first started vaping, I would have a cig now and then and use my vaporizer off and on until I learned how to vape. It takes some practice as it is not like smoking a cigarette. Learning to draw lighter and longer really helped me.

There are so many nice people here that are willing to give you support and help so dont be afraid to ask questions. I wish you the very best, you will feel so much better without smoke. It is really worth the effort.
Hang in there. Sorry about being so long-winded, just want to encourage you!:)

Okay............Everybody so far has been right......You are probably not getting enough nicotine. Here is your solution

get some patches to go with your e-cig, or nic lozenges, or snus, or anything to handle the nic part and vape away for the habit part. I feel for you...........I really do. I had to go to 36mg to kill the beast, and vaping is so much more fun,,,I hate to see someone falter

While everyone is right so far, don't beat yourself up if you do have a cigarette.
This is not like other methods of quitting, where if you do turn back, you turn back for good.

This is a method that works when it works for you, at the pace that is right for you.
And you don't have to worry or stress out about it, really, trust me.
:)

Yeah, actually, you probably shouldn't trust me at all really.

But yeah, go ahead and have a cigarette.
You will probably be shocked at how freaking crappy it tastes now.

What everyone is saying is right as far as I am concerned. When I first started vaping I had high nic juice and was off the analogs in 2 days. I slowly reduced the nic down and was loving it..... Then, all my gear broke and I went back on analogs for a couple of weeks...

As soon as I replaced my gear and started to vape again I discovered to my horror that my low nic juice just wouldn't cut it! I had to order high nic juice in and I supplemented my vaping with analogs for about 5 days, now I am off them again.

So basically, if you need a couple of smokes a day for a while it's no big deal - you will find that you want them less and less, and they will taste like shat once you find a juice that you like. Don't sweat it if you smoke a few cigs while getting into vaping, pressuring yourself and getting stressed out will not help you. Also consider the fact that going right from analogs to vaping is basically quitting cold turkey - how many of us have been able to do that?

And also, get some spare parts in whenever you can afford it. Try to get something with a manual switch or at least something that will do good volume (510, 801, 901). It will save you in the long run. Good luck!

Crystal, I think you could maybe do better on a little higher nicotine density, I smoked 2-3 packs of 100mm lights for lotta years, I use 24mg/ml juice. Perhaps you'd do better with 11 up to 18 mg/ml. If it is leaving you this stressed I am afraid it will take longer, in the long-run, to find your comfort zone. When you get to a point you're comfortable, you can always start diluting downward with plain PG or VG, whichever you're using, very slowly. The "comfort level" is so important, because you're already even with higher nic juice not absorbing as much nicotine as you would smoking. Anything not within the comfort level will be a panic button. At the 24mg level, I'm comfortable, but could eat a horse!

Thank you all for your support, ideas and experience. I agree I need something stronger as the symptoms are not getting better strangely they seem to be getting worse. Now Im having a really difficult time sleeping. Didnt fall asleep til after 1:30am woke up wide eyed at 4:30am I have a 15 month old daughter to take care of..I need my sleep!

I need a quick fix, but im terrified if I smoke again...I will never quit.

Several previous folks mentioned this, I'll chime in with my anecdote.
I thought it might be nice if vaping could replace tobacco for me. Just a thought though really. When I started vaping it was more a curiosity thing than a quit tobacco effort. Quitting the analogs just kinda happened.

IMHO mind, be gentle with yourself. Go ahead and fire up a cig as needed. Then continue to learn how to us your PV. This forum can help when it doesn't digress into drama. There is a learning curve with vaping. Most vapers have their own horror stories related to first starting.

As you continue to learn the art of vaping, those occasional cigarettes will begin to taste so bad you'll very simply no longer want them.

Go have a smoke, then wash your hands and go hold yer daughter Crystal. It's OK
