Depending on the juice, most would recommend that you drip 2-4 drops at a time. You'll know when to drip again because the taste will fade and eventually you'll get a nasty burning taste. Don't worry about hurting the atomizer because it tastes a whole lot more than dry burning it for a few seconds to destroy one.

Once you get a burned taste (eventually, you'll be able to just know when to drip because of a learned taste. You'll know what to expect ;) ) just drip 2-3 more drops and you're good to go. Some people can get 10-12 puff off of 3 drips, I personally get around 4-6 good sized puffs, it all depends on how you hit it, the juice used, the voltage you're vaping at. I vape a majority of the time at higher voltages, so I drip more often.

If your atty is leaking, gurgling too much or you're getting juice in your mouth, you probably overdripped. No problem, take your atty off, and blow the juice out from the driptip side (the side you hit) onto a paper towel. Re-drip and you should be good to go.

It takes a little practice, but, in no time you'll have it down like a pro :)

Gee...if the gurgling keeps on, unscrew it and blow it out into a paper towel, redrip 3 drops and go again. I don't use atomizers anymore other than to test flavors with. Also, if the atty is new/cleaned, drip 5 drops and let it sit for 10 minutes or so before you fire it. It will help saturate the wick better and get the juices where it's needed.

Levitas pretty much nailed it.

I had a heck of a time getting my dripping technique down, but after a while it becomes second nature. There's a nice rhythm to it; kinda fills the ritual/habitual need that vaping seems to sometimes lack. Just do it for a while, you'll get it and wonder how you ever had problems at first.
