Yeah, I know, I'll get 100 different answers. How many clearos to start? my 900mAh came with two, I've since ordered one more 'just in case' and a dripping atty. I have menthol in one clearo and figure I'll never get the taste out of that one, so I have one 'menthol' one 'general use' and a 'spare' coming. Is that enough for now? I do plan on eventually getting more, and probably tanks when I get up the courage to try them. :)

I'm claiming answer #434. lol

Cartos, on average, last a typical user 5 to 7 days each. There are a lot of things that factor in to how long they last: Voltage you run them at, ratio of PG to VG in your liquid, vaping frequency - of course, if they are LR or SR... And stuff like that. A few people claim to get weeks on end out of a single carto, but that's an exception - not the rule. (And I have no idea how they are doing it.)

So I would have to say you are cutting things a bit short. You also have to allow for getting the occasional bad carto right out of the box and "user error" when filling, killing one off before you practically get started. Getting the dripping atty was a good idea. Personally, I think you should never be caught with less than an unused box of 5 while waiting for your next order to arrive.

Not cartos...Clearomizers. I have PLENTY of cartos.... I just need to spread things out a bit now, before buying more hardware....

I can't really answer you because I don't know how much you vape, how many flavors you like to have going, how often you want to clean, if you change strengths throughout the day, etc. IE: I don't use clearos... just boge cartos... and have nine going daily with different juices and strengths of the same. In my case, I agree with Rickajho. I don't feel comfortable without a box of five for backup at all times. But two boxes is better for me because I tend to get lazy and use a new one instead of cleaning. If I used clearos, which I thought about and researched but decided not to, I would still back them up with cartos at least for emergencies.

I always try to keep at least 3-4 unused clearos at all times. When I open a new one and start using it, I will order 2-3 more within that week. I've been pretty lucky with my clearos as they will last me a good month or so before I have to toss it. Actually as far as clearos go, I just moved over the the bottom coils with replacable heads so instead of spending 6-7 dollars on a new clearo, I just spend 3 bucks on a new head.

Would you mind telling me what bottom coil you're using and what your experience has been with it... amount of juice it sucks up, leakage, tube/tank longevity, dry hits, etc? Thanks.

I know they are expensivem but if you find they are your preferred delivery device you need a few as backups.

I always found clearomizers to be more inconsistant than other juice delivery devices. When they work good, they're great. When they don't, they aren't. Some end up leaking from the bottom, some give a dry hit or harsh vape right from the start. Some last a couple days, some last a month or more. Like I said, they are inconsistant. Vapor's Law Number 2: Have backups for your backups.

I switched to pyrex cartotanks several months ago after filling a brand new clearomizer with some strawberry lemonade and within 5 minutes it had literally melted in a heap in my hand. I just recently did order a couple of Kanger T3's just to try out on a gripper-type box mod, but I neglected to also purchase an ego skirt adaptor needed to make the connection. :-x

Honestly? Clearos seem to do well for me. I find that I can use and clean then a ton. As I recall from my carto days as well, as long as I MADE SURE that there was always liquid in it and never but them, same goes for my clearos, they last for a good long time. I had a carto that lasted a good solid 2 months. The little carto that could. Just make sure you take good care of them, and 5 could last you a solid month and a half on average with good care. I'd say order about 5-10 a month if you ARE going to take good care of them

I'm an oddball and use 808 threaded batteries, so far I have bought all my hardware from smokeless image and use their T3 clearos. Very easy to fill as there is lots of space between the wall of the tank and the air tube. The only problems with leaking so far has been a bit of juice leaking into the middle post and out the bottom but it has been minimal, only a small drop on the battery when I take it off.

I say that but I believe it was my fault as I only noticed it after having to do top offs after the first filling. I was noticing that a little bit of juice will slide down the middle post on the head when I would take them off, I believe that was the juice that would end up leaking out. What I do now when I refill is wipe the middle post on the head with a tissue and then wipe the mouth of the post inside the tank to make sure both are dry before putting the head back on. Since I've been doing that, I have not had any leaking issues.

I don't use any strong juices that are known for killing plastics so I have had no issues there. They are a 3ml tank which if I stick to one flavor will last me a good work day before needing a refill which is 10 hours of pretty much chain vaping at my desk. Never had an issue with dry hits since the wick is always wet, which I love... Don't have to roll it around to soak the wicks like a top coil.

The only thing I don't like about these T3s is they have three air holes which makes for a very airy draw. It's easy to fix though, I usually will seal two of the three holes with clear nail polish and it works just fine.

I also have not actually killed a head yet, I just toss them if I get tired of or run out of the juice I was using with that particular head. I have one that has been going strong for 3 weeks now.

There are eGo threaded T3s as well.... also these produce a rather cool vape so if you prefer a hotter vape, stick with cartos or top coils. I use the T3s on a VV at about 4-4.3 volts to make the vape warmer.

Ok..lets see if I can combine questions..

I usually have Two clearos going. The Menthol one 'always' and the other with 'flavor of the day' which currently seems to be just the same one right now, HHV Bleeding heart...lol. I vape less than 1ml a day on the clearos, and occasionally hit a carto with a flavor I am steeping to see if it's ready. I have about 20 of the 808 cartos I can use/reuse. And I have back up 808 batteries on the way for the cartos since one of the batts is already toast... I also plan on getting an adapter since the one I have that is from an off brand of ecig does NOT work with the cartos I have, OR my ego..even though it is supposedly 501 threaded. I think I'm ok for 'now'....next month is a different story....lol

I suggest buying as much as you can afford! It won't go to waste...you will use it eventually, and it's always good to have plenty of backup supplies.

I'm not sure what your setup is but I also suggest buying a Vivi Nova asap. Either a standard or mini will do just fine...you won't regret it.

One more suggestion is to set yourself a budget for vaping supplies. It's really easy to buy, buy, buy because you'll want everything you see! At least I do.

Hi Molli,

I hope they work for you but to be honest clearomizers stink IMHO they are just so inconsistent! I know you are on a fixed budget so it's not easy and you're just starting out so you need simple. Cartotanks are not difficult and we are all here to help you but that's when you are ready. In the meanwhile I wish you would get a few Vivi Novas ( these always get mixed reviews but I love the ease of them for beginners .. Literally just fill and go. I have ten of them and no issues with them at all! My husband loves them .. Says great flavor .. Gets huge vapor ( but he gets bigger vapor than me anyway ) me I prefer cartotanks.. A little cleaner flavor and the draw is more open which I prefer and I get tons of vapor out of my Ikenvape cartos. I know the Vivis are not super cheap usually ( 11.95 to 14.95) but you can clean them easily and reuse them ( I clean them in 5 mins) anyway you can PM me and even call me if you want :) I want you to have a great vaping experience and I want you to be happy.

Totally agreed!

They are very easy and hassle free for beginners and vets alike.

I got my step-dad to start vaping last summer and he never really jumped in until a few months ago when I set him up with a mini Vivi Nova. Now I'm having to make him new juice weekly.

He's older and has lost all of the mechanical know-how he once had...no way is he learning something new. He has no idea how the things work and would never bother with vaping at all if he had to deal with most of the stuff many of us deal with our PVs. I also don't want to be hassled with keeping him up and running...along with keeping up on my own stuff. I first tried getting him on an atty setup and then switched to a rebuildable (that was a huge mistake)....then I tried the CE4s and cartos. The Vivi Nova was the best thing in the world for him. Just fill it and go!

Now the only time I have to deal with his stuff is when he needs new juice or when he needs a new head...I'm in and out within 5 minutes. All he has to do is rinse, refill and vape away.

I just get 5-10 each time I order stuff from the vendor I buy them from, whether I need them or not. They do not go to waste, and it's a bit cheaper if I buy in lots like that. I just got a tank today, and the clearos will be my backup and pre-punched cartos will be my regular item to buy. It really depends on how you use them and what you can afford, but I like to stock up, personally. :)

One other thing - with most of the clearos you can get spare coils / heads for them. Then, when the coil finally dies, you just replace that part (after cleaning the rest, of course). Cheaper than a whole new clearo.

Useful, too, when you want to change from a strong flavor to a more delicate one, as the wick will retain some of the original flavor and alter the next.
