I'm about to embark on direct dripping. Tired of fooling with carts and refilling and washing out polyfill, cutting foam, etc. I'm wondering how many drags in general you can expect to get on each drip. Is this something you have to do every puff? 3-5? I know this can vary from person to person; I'm just looking for a range. Is there some sort of "signal" that you need to refill - like a wierd taste or sound from the atty? Sorry for all the noob questions!

I use a 401 which is the exposed atty type. I've not come across anyone mentioning this... but long ago I pulled out all the padding etc from my carts, enlarged the hole to double its size, and cut about a quarter inch off the top.

Then - I TIP. Take the nozzle off a 5ml bottle (or 10ml) and throw it away. The bottles have the perfect opening to snuggly fit the atty (up to the body of the ecig itself). So, I push it in, invert bottle and ecig 2 or 3 times, withdraw, pop the cart back on and I'm good to go. The whole process takes a fraction of the time and effort of dripping and the atty gets a perfect amount of juice with each tip (with no leaks!). It's about enough to be the equivalent of a real cigarette, and the 401 set up in this way gives a really great vape.

Tipping is quite therapeutic too - a bit like refilling a pipe.
