Just a thought I've been having... what's the max wattage that can actually be vaped comfortably? I know everyone's going to be different, but between these multi coil sub ohm setups and the joke vape machines that PBusardo and others have posted it really made me wonder.

20 watts? 30 watts? If we were able to hit 100 watts would it even be vapeable, or would we just choke?

Thoughts?

There's a guy locally that's building a 50w box mod. Not sure how it vapes or if I could honestly go that high as .7-.8ohms is honestly close to too warm a vape for me, but it's going to be interesting to see to say the least.

He was telling me about it while we were discussing mods and building coils about a week ago. Not sure what he's using or how it's being built (i.e. if he's using a kit or something else), but I'm kinda wanting to see it.

It'd take a .32 ohm coil @ 4v to get to 50w which would be 12.5 amps. Seems like a lot more, but plenty of people do it on videos, but I'll stick to a slightly higher resistance to keep it a little cooler.

40 watts is my sweet spot .4 ohm dual coil dripper, I swap batteries when they get to 3.9volts

Whew - I don't know if I could do the dual-coil setup. Sometimes a single at .5 ohms is enough for me, but I didn't smoke all that much in the first place. (pack a day or less). I've been waiting to try, but not too sure it's going to happen. I do, however, agree with you on the battery swapping. I tend to drop down to 3.8 at the lowest and then swap. After 3.8, I feel everything just drops off for me.

Running the numbers... back when I was seeing what I could, or what I even wanted to, get away with, 0.25Ω would be good for 70+ watts with a conventional 4.2v 30a high drain 18650 mech mod. Of course, that level of power was relatively short lived.
That mech must be solid silver to get a load of 4.2 volts on .25 ohm :D

Lithium batteries drop to 3.8V very quickly. At 3.8v less then a quarter of the capacity is used. Must be carrying tons of batteries with you.

I normally have 2x Sony 18650VCT4 30 amp and 1x Panasonic 10 amp with me at all times. The Sony batteries seem to take a great deal longer to drop to 3.8 than the Panasonic, but that's just my exp. I'm running .7-.8 ohm coils on most of my builds with a few in the .5 ohm range and I can continue vaping most of the day without having a need to change between all 3, but they are there for backups in case.

I have seen a graph of the 18650vtc3 and it does indeed hold voltage better so this one being just a higher mah version probably does also. They aren't 30 amps as rated, more like 18-20 amp which is pretty awesome coming from an 18650 cell.

So if the vtc4's have a higher mah rating. I wonder what the actual amperage is ?

I choked at 40

I sometimes vape at 45 watts with a fresh batt and a .4ohm coil

The build I just did is pushing 50w...

.34 dual micro flatty.

How many of you are actually measuring the voltage at the coil to see if you are getting what you think you are? I'd bet you'll be surprised. ;)

The mod is irrelevant. I'm merely asking if you are actually getting what you think you are getting. Like I said, if you're not measuring voltage, you'll probably be surprised.

You only gave 1 data point, so you might actually be getting the 40w that you say you did. The others quoted in my post gave 2 data points and I'd bet a paycheck they are well short of what they think they are getting.

Of course because of the battery.
