I looked up innokin imr 18650 2500mah and they are on amazon . says 30 amp continuous drain. I don't believe that but some sites say it 20 amp cdr. I'll treat it as 20 amp. thanks for all your help. The next batteries I get will be 30 amp cdr.
You don't need 30 amp batteries. They die quick. Get some Sony vtc5a next. 25 amp batteries with good life

Also, regulated mods are not governed by Ohms law. You should properly use Watts law A=W/V (-10% for the inefficiency of the board). For a 20A battery, that's roughly 60W, 120W for 2 in series. As mongo pointed out the LG HB6 are 30A batteries as tested by Mooch, but at expense of capacity. I've never heard of Innokin batteries before, and didn't know Innokin even marketed a battery.
It's important to note, though, that the low voltage cutoff on the Alien is very low. 2.8-2.9v. That means that 20 amp batteries are good up to 105w on it, not 120w as on most other mods. Another option is to take the batteries out before they reach cutoff, and thus being able to safely use a higher wattage.

Hmm well I've tried it and at about 100 watts . It says on the Alien it's drawing 26.7 amps under where it says amps. Does this sound right or is that for both batteries and I should halve it per battery.? Basically is it safe for me to vape it at a hundred watts. Don't want any of that thermal runaway stuff.
The amp meter on most mods displays the amps at the atomizer, not how many amps are drawn from the batteries. It's mostly useless information.

Well next time I get some batteries I'll go with the samsung 25r . I'm currently vaping at 100 watts and it's a nice vape. Just seems strange to me that they market a mod at 220 watts but it can't be safely used to its full potential. 100 watts for me right now is plenty. Thanks for all the advice. Vape on

I'm theory you are correct but in reality the mod will never put out 150 watts anyway with batts that's low. You'd be lucky to get 80 watts out of it at that point.

It can be safely used at 220 but it's situational and not practical.

It's like this a car is marketed at 300 HP and a top speed of 180mph, but who is really going to go that fast driving it everyday?

Given how unlikely it is to run it consistently at 220W, I'd use an analogy of having a 150 hp engine, and a speedometer that goes up to 180 mph. Looks great, not likely to occur.

I use 25Rs in just about everything I have. Simple, safe, works fine. The 30Q is another option, also will perform at 20A CDR and has the maximum capacity of 3,000 mAh. I don't bother as my usage profile doesn't warrant that. I'm not a 100W vaper, I only go through 5-7 ml of juice a day, and I have never run my batteries down to cutoff. I always switch them out for recharging no lower than 25%. Again, that's my usage and not the same as yours. You need to use what fits your needs best.

Very true. Once your batts drop below 4 volts each I doubt it'll hit 220. It's very situational. If u want to vape at high wattages like that a triple or quad mod is a better choice

Kinda funny everyone bangs on efest yet says they trust mooch so much. On mooches chart he says that the metallic purple efest tested exactly as labeled. Curious!

On a side note I run my alien at 120 all the time on 20 amp batteries with either a limitless XL or Arctic V12 on it with a .1 ish coil and the batteries never even get past luke warm.

Well it's the first battery in a long time to do that. They probably updated and stopped doing that stuff after they lost so much business for lying.

Personally I still won't buy efest. they can change the cell in the wrapping at any time and it's not even like it's cheaper. I can buy sony and samsung batteries all day long for the same price or cheaper and know they aren't going to change cells
