My First order was placed om April 4th, 2011. Since then and including the order on 4/4/11 I have spent a total of $405.74. I have not touched an analog since April 9th, 2011. When I did smoke analogs, I smoked about 4-packs a week of Newport regular at about $6.50 per pack. By the end of this week I would have spent about $130.00 on analogs so I haven't quite broke even or saved any money just yet BUT...in time I will and regardless it's all worth saving my life no matter what :)

my initial investments were much larger. now it's maintain time. I stopped looking at the overall investment. some stuff was not right but then I remember buying "Free" cigs (remember those, made from coco beans? they tasted better chewing them than smoking) and many other brands and cigars that I tossed or gave away. I went from about $15 a day to $15 a week habit that is healthier. so if I buy new toys, like the new shiny 1100 mah battery, it's a luxury, not a necessity. I have 4 guitars too. don't need them all... will I buy more? sure I will. will I buy more pv's? of course I will... that said I am finding the cheap cartos are working better for me than the expensive stuff

I was updating my spending spreadsheet and decided I'll check in with my fellow vapers. Here's my breakdown since I started on the 20th of July 2010:

Total Spent on E Cigs (Hardware & Juice) ---- $1,385.15
Days without Cigs ---- 295
Total Savings ---- $1,269.85
Days till I break even ---- -141
Date I broke even ---- 20-Dec-10

Hardware List:

Description ---- Retired
650 mah eGo - Qty. 4 ---- 1
510 USB Passthrough - Qty. 1 ---- 0
900 mah eGo battery - Qty. 4 ---- 0
650 mah eGo Passthrough - Qty. 2 ---- 0
3000 mah eGo - Qty. 2 ---- 1
Royal Smoker CE2-R4 Cartos - Qty. 30 ---- 12
510 SR Atomizers - Qty. 25 ---- 21
Trustfire PCB Batteries - Qty. 2 ---- 1
Omega - Qty. 1 ---- 0
Bridgeless Atomizers (GreenHouseOne) - Qty. 10 ---- 10
Warranty Replacement LR 510 Atomizers (GH1) - Qty. 5 ---- 5
Cisco LR 510 (1.5) Atomizers - Qty. 5 ---- 4
Cisco LR 510 (1.8) Atomizers - Qty. 5 ---- 0
Cisco LR 306 (1.8) Atomizers - Qty. 10 ---- 0
Joye 306 (1.5) Atomizers - Qty. 2 ---- 0
IKV LR 510 (2.0) Atomizers - Qty. 10 ---- 3
REO Grand - Qty. 1 ---- 0

IF I ever figure out why I am killing so many attys on my Omega, it would help to bring the high rate of atty consumption down drastically as I have killed just a couple attys on my eGo's and none on my Reo.

So, how is everyone else doing?

I quit smoking analogs in January, and spent about a grand thus far on vaping. I am now doing DIY and it is saving me a heck of alot. But there is always somthing I want, cartos, tanks, things from overseas, like my mini tank I got recently. I am still waiting for a pcc for that and another batt, but I can safely say I am now saving money from when I was smoking!

Hmmm I started vaping around December and I've spent over $500 so far (more than I thought), but that figure is largely due to stockpiling juices as a reaction to the HC scare. Work wasn't too plentiful for me earlier this year so I haven't had a lot of money to burn on this stuff. I have my trusty eGo (4 batteries, 2 x 650 and 1000 mah) and a good supply of atty's and juice so I'll be ok for a while.....I think. :vapor: lol

And you are in the states! Double all that price here in Canada. In Saskatchewan, the cheapest smokes are 11 dollars a pack, and go to 16 bucks for Du Maurier a pack. Not to mention, your hardware and juice for your ecigs is half the price it is here! Canada is getting jipped left and right, we get dinged double for everything here!

Even though our dollar has been trading higher than the USD for quite a while, I might add.

From reading all of this, vaping is a lot cheaper than smoking but only if you want it to be :D
It took my 4 months to break even from when I started vaping and quit smoking. It is only cheaper for me now because I DIY everything. If I had to buy juice from vendors, I would not be breaking even, because I still have to buy hardware to keep my ecig going! Batts, cartos, etc cost a heck of alot money in Canada. DIY offsets that, and buying my own nic juice, but I had to go to the states for most of that! I still support Canada vendors, but I do buy very little here, mostly hardware stuff and some flavors from Happy Jack. Well, he knows he will ALWAYS get my business, even if his prices skyrocket..which I know he would never do, I would still buy from him.

Wow, I cannot even begin to imagine how this would be possible. Compared to smoking analogs, vaping is so cheap it's ridiculous. You can get a 30ml bottle of 28 mg juice for less than the price of two packs of smokes. The only thing I can think of is that you're spending a ton of money on a whole bunch of hardware. I'm going to break even next week after less than a month of vaping and will have at least 6 months of everything, saving $12 a day on smokes, and when you amortize that we're talking a couple of grand of savings over that period, and I still smoke all the analogs I want to, which is a lot less than before vaping I might add ;) This is a beautiful way to save money for me and it's not even close :)

Yup hardware is what is killing me softly but surely. I have to buy everything and anything. I want a provari so bad..but I can't jusify buying anything right now considering it took me 4 months to break even! Cobra, you are really lucky you were able to do it in a month!!

humm

I just checked my credit card bills lol , and i already spent 237$ this month for kits and juices , and its still more profitable than smoking analogs in my case . My usual analog habit costed me around 300$ to 350$ a month depending on stress level.

but i have to admit i'm a hardware ....., and bought enough parts to build like 5 differents mods on top of the rest i already bought, thank god DIY is not costly with a good electronic shop in the area!!!

I spent around 200 bucks a month on analogs. I bought cheap smokes and made 5 packs last me 7 days. I smoked butts..I will admit it. But since I bought ecigs and juice and all the doo dads to go with it..OMG..my credit card bills were into a thousand bucks in 2 months. But yay for breaking even finally, and double ya for starting to save and diy juice!
