How much liquid does one need?

So I've been trying to figure out what e-cig to go with and it would seem that the RIVA 510 - LITE BUNDLE from liberty-flights would be a good way to start.

But now comes the next choice: e-liquid.
There are various flavours (which I won't bother to ask as it is preference) and various prices and it would seem liberty-flights has decent pricing.

But how much do I really need?
How would one compare a 30 ml bottle of liquid to a pack of cigarettes?
I smoke about 8 to 10 Camel 99's a day, sometimes less depending on the day.
But if 1 cartridge is equal to about 3 to 5 cigarettes, can I assume a 30 ml bottle is about 3 packs?
How much do you guys use, and how would you compare yourself to a "real" cigarette smoker when it comes to usage? Or how long does a 30 ml bottle last you?

ps: if you know cheaper prices for liquid I would love to know of them

You can't compare a bottle of liquid to a pack of cigarettes. It just doesn't work that way. For the most part, heavy vapers will go through 3-6mls of juice per day. You might go through less, but that's not a given. Everyone is different and you might find yourself vaping more than you smoked.

A 30ml bottle will last me around a week to 10 days, depending on how much I vape. Sometimes my PV is hardly ever out of my mouth and sometimes I can slow down.

Get small bottles of different flavors until you find one or a few you like then you can get those in larger bottles at less cost per ml. It's hard to say what you'll vape a day, everyones different and it really doesn't have anything to do with how many cigs you smoked. I'm around the 2-3 mil a day area and 3ish seems to be a fairly common amount from most things I've read. Get at lest 30ml of various flavors to start, that should get you going then maybe purchase a larger bottle of one you liked from the first order and more smaller samples till you find a few you really like. I'd also recommend getting different mg amounts to see which works for you best.

If you are new to vaping and are considering buying a 30ml bottle of juice, what's going to happen to all that juice.? Maybe try out several small sample (3ml) bottles of different flavors & nic level to find out what you like. Maybe you were just using 30ml as an example, I don't know. But like WOH said, every is different. I vape way more than I smoked because cigarettes are so expensive and didn't taste as good as ejuice so you will probably find yourself going through juice faster as you go along. Stock up.

Most people vape 1.5 to 5ml per day but some people vape more per day, especially if they are using tanks, LR attys or cartos, or are chain-vapers.

Nice choice with the Riva Lite Bundle - that's what I have. I use Boge cartomizers on it (standard resistance because I also use the same cartos on my slim manual 510s. but many like the hotter LR 2.0 Boge cartos only the fat battery models like Riva can use)

What she said. 30mls lasts me a week to 10 days.

I was afraid you'd say that, makes sense too actually.

But you say it's sometimes hardly ever out of your mouth, yet it lasts you about a week.
That seems to me like a significant amount of time for a small bottle like that to last.

I'm merely trying to get an impression of the cost efficiancy I could gain by switching to e-cigs.
I'm thinking in the beginning Ill be smoking half/half e-cigs and regular.
I'm also not looking for an exact number, I'm just trying to find out how much I need to order and on average, how often I would need to replenish.

Liquid use varies from person to person. I was a pak a day smoker, regular strength. for 6 months i went thru 1.3ml a day average. But that was dripping. Now using a tank, its around 2ml a day so far.
A study on this site showed the average use to be 2ml per day on average. But im sure the use will vary as well depending on the nicotine strength of the juice as well. Im not fimaliar with liberty flights pricing, but there are ALOT of venders out there. Look on theses forums, and search google. And best of luck to you.
PS: Full strenght cigarettes users seem to start out with 18 to 24mg nic.:D

WomanOfHeart is right on the money. Switching flavors makes it difficult to get an exact ml per month figure, but planning on three 30ml bottles per month is a good place to start. Of course, you will probably want to get more smaller bottles at first until you find your favorites. At minimum, you should try to keep 30ml around all the time so that you don't run out before the mailman comes.

Actually, yes I was thinking of getting a few smaller bottles to get a few different flavours.
Which, initiall will make me use up a bit more since I'll be eager to try it all out lol.
But, at the same time I don't want to have to spend $50 on just juice because it runs out too fast.
I don't know, I'm trying to keep it a bit cheap.
It's tricky I know, but money is an issue and I got the impression that in the long run I could save some money by switching.

30mls is actually quite a large bottle. As a general rule, that bottle will last about a week. I said "about" because there are times when I chain vape. You'll also notice that I said that I go through 3-6mls per day. It's different from day to day with me, so you can't take what I say in such a literal, hard and fast context. You can't with anyone, because we all might go through varying amounts every day. That's why we go by averages rather than by standards.

I got the Riva Light last month too ;) I love mine. It stays hotter, longer than the eGo I have too.

As for juice, get more than you think you will need. Get a higher and lower mg than you think you will need too. Its torture finding the right flavor, but getting a headache from too high of a nic. Why get more juice than you need? You could lose a supplier, Post Office could lose it, delay it or even go on strike(I really felt for Canadian vapors last month!). You can misplace it or leave it somewhere. If you get it on sale, you could wait a long time for it to be shipped. Go see Honeyville threads. And sometimes a juice is bad and has to be re-made/ordered(see Vermilion River Cherry currently)....
Dont expect to like all you try, but when you find one you like, go order more of it while you keep sampling. Try flavors you dont think you would like. I dont care for menthol/mint in general, and havent found a chocolate yet I can stand, but the mint choc chip from honeyville really got to me- yum. I also got a cinnamon- its great too, but not for long. Its great for getting rid of the taste of a bad flavor when you want to just gag.

Yeah I just need to find the right place(s) to order the juice from I guess.
I could've sworn I saw a site yesterday that had 30ml bottles for about $10 but I could be mistaken. (they also had 5ml bottles I think)

So from what I understand I should try to at least start off with a variety of flavours and strengths amounting up to perhaps 60ml together.

I am on Indian land
It's one of the things that has surprised me the most. People have been so kind, I've received so much juice, in so many different flavors, but I don't think anybody is ever prepared for

1) How quickly you can puff through it.

2) How many flavors you have to try until you find the ONE.

And that's just for now. When I phase out the tobacco cigarettes, and become able to taste and smell again, who knows what the ONE will be then?

My ONE right now is called RY4, made by the vapor4life.com company.

And they're - of course - out.

Now here's the funny-but-maddening part.

RY4 is like tomato gravy. Or pasanda or mole or yebeg wot or whichever signature dish resonates with you. Every company makes one, and the devotees of each one will swear that it's the One True Bestest version.

Really. It's exactly like being in the middle of a gaggle of your aunties arguing about who makes the best (insert dish here).

(If anybody knows of a RY4 that tastes like auntie vapor4life's recipe, please tell the link).

The good news, or what I think will be the good news, is that once you know which flavors you like, you can just get big bottles of those and focus on something else for a while. Or that's what I'm hoping will happen...

Yes, you will save money in the long run. Especially of you go the do- it -yourself juice route. You can get some strong nic / flavor juices and cut them with cheap VG or PG. But don't worry about that right now. Just make the switch, get the Riva 510 lite bundle, some sample juices and try them out. Read the juice reviews and you'll find something that works for you. Good luck and Go For It!

VaporBomb's flavor of the week juice is $10 for a 30ml bottle, but like others have said, it's best to start with smaller bottles so you can find the flavors you like without wasting a lot juice and money.

When I started vaping I bought from VaporBomb exclusively and I loved them. The prices are very reasonable and the juice is tasty. I just mix my own juice now, so I rarely ever buy anymore.

I saw that too, unflavoured juice to be mixed with flavours from (i cant remember where)
Seems intriguing, but like you say, that's for later. first I'll have to see how to fill the thing to begin with lol.

I do appreciate the responses, and fast ones too!
Thanks all
