I never fit in 30 drops but it really depends on the dropper of the bottle. In measurement conversion tables 20 drops is 1ml. I typically get 22-24 in with the eliquid bottles I use. And if you bought auto batteries then you need to be extra careful that the carto is not going to leak and that means not having it look soaking wet, cleaning it up well, and settling it well.

The thought of analogs now though make me sick, yuck!

lol, it doesn't take long before they become a bad memory. You'll find a juice that will taste good right out of the gate. Not every juice has to steep. Chasing juices is what many find to be a very enjoyable part of vaping.

I have such a love/hate relationship going on. I get so excited when I place an order and so disappointed when I get the order and don't like it.

My two main liquids for my everyday cartos are V4L WOW juices but there were a ton I hated at V4L before I found them. I just kept trying the samplers and I tried all of the vanillas (as carto samplers, since I wanted white cartos anyway for my vanilla PV). My two are WOWbacco (cocoa tobacco w/ almost no tobacco, WOWboy is the same with a bit of mint added) and WOW vanilla. And these juices have no carto-clogging flavoring sediment. I can get 7 days use out of a V4L or Bloogplanet carto, 10+ days out of the Boge carto on my 510 which runs a bit cooler. BTW I highly recommend the Smokeless Image and Bloogplanet cartos on KR8. I use those and the V4L WOW cartos with a drip tip as a cool mouthpiece.

Velvet Vapors my fave is Raspberry Gingerale. I see you bought some cream and cheese flavors - creamy flavors like those are also prone to needing steeping to get rid of floweriness. I actually avoid most creamy flavors because of that, from every vendor.

Purevapes has nice juices

Juicy vapor - bit of a crapshoot but great prices and configurability and lots of sample pack options including as small as 3 3ml bottles.

I'm wary of trying them again because the ones I ordered pre-filled I didn't like. I got the English Toffee which tasted like coconut and chemicals. Caramel Apple which just tasted like nuts and chemicals. And Cherry Cordial which tasted like straight up alcohol and was so bad I only took two puffs and couldn't do it anymore. I really wanted to like them too because they have so many flavors! Plus, they are located within driving distance from me and they have a "lounge" which is like a store. I may have to take a drive over there one of these days and try other flavors and hope they have something else I like. I don't know though, that chemical taste was a big turn off, I kept thinking about what the heck was I inhaling...

that's part of the hunt. You find one you like to vape every day and stick with it. Then you try different flavors. When you have the favorite, it is easier to be patient and allow the others to steep. I personally order a lot of dekang juices because by the time they ship from china, sit in the vendors stock and ship to me, they are usually good to go. I prefer juices made locally but only order when I have a good supply of juice that's good to go and I can wait. If you find one you like, order a lot.

I have pre-filleds that I like, but nothing that knocks my socks off and I get sick of them. It's funny though when I get sick of them, I think I don't like them anymore and then when I go back to them, they taste good again. I've heard others say that too. All of this is just so bizarre. I do get a little scared about what the heck it is that I'm inhaling. Sometimes, it just makes me want to quit altogether, but I don't know that I could do that even if I wanted to. I'm too much of an addict!! Especially when I'm stressed, the throat hit calms me. There's nothing like being stressed and having a weak cartridge that your sucking on for the life of you trying to get a hit off of it and then you put a fresh one on and it's like, ahhhhh. Relief.

I'll keep on ordering and keep on trying cuz that's how I roll. :)

And BTW I did not like any of the V4L apple ones I tried - all had some kind of overdone spices. The plain sour cherry was acceptable. I did not like a single cocktail flavor. Did not like cherry cordial but chocolate covered cherry was Ok. Butterscotch was OK. Did not like any vanillas except WOW Vanilla which became one of my every day juices. And the WOW Tobaccos sampler found me WOWbacco cocoa tobacco which is mostly a mild cocoa to me - my other all day vape, as well as WOWboy which is the same as WOWbacco + a bit of mint. The WOW 555 in the sampler was overdone but I liked it enough to vape the whole carto. That was the sampler that was most worth it to me, and oddly the very first I bought. I have never tried the WOW Chocolate but I plan to, to compare it to WOWbacco's cocoa aroma.

Another note - if a carto has been singed, it will first steal the sweetness from a sweet juice which sucks. You may be able to overcome w tiny bit of singe by keep it perfectly damp (a carto vapes best when not overfilled which is like a flooded atomizer and not underfilled to the point of singeing).

Also - don't use cartos to test juices. Use a manual KR8 battery with a standard resistance DSE901 atomizer and drip tip (you can get those two items at LiteCigUSA.net in the US). You should have a spare battery anyway, especially if you use autos. LitecigUSA.net also has a good price on gold button KR8 manuals.

And note - you have to smell the vapor to get the flavor. the aroma is a huge part of flavor with food and vapor. But food is helped the additional cues of visual and texture. real cigs dump their aroma all over you and you don't have to remember to smell it. But with ecigs you need to inhale or exhale some of the vapor through your nose to get the flavor. Your tongue can only taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami/savory (msg). If a liquid has none of those flavors then all you will taste is nicotine and base liquid. And even if a liquid does have one or more of those flavors the aroma is needed to complete the flavor. A cherry juice's vapor should leave a suitable amount of sweet and sour on your tongue but until you smell it, it is not cherry.

I know what you mean by the chemical taste, which I hate. The Wow line at V4L doesn't have that gross taste - or at least my favorite flavors don't: Coffee, Pancake, and Black Licorice all taste very good with no chemical taste.

So.... I just placed my 2nd juice order. I went with Tasty Vapor. Although, now that I've read more, most people say they need to steep. I'm in a little more patient of a mood though now that it's my 2nd order.

I decided to go with them because they also sell bottles of VG and I'm going to try to mix some in with my Velvet Vapor stuff. I had ordered 100% PG and there is no vapor whatsoever on the exhale. I find that odd since all the pre-filled cartomizers I have are all PG and the vapor production is fine. I really don't want to waste all those samples and am hoping they will taste better now that they've been sitting around for a while. We'll see...

I only ordered 2 bottles from Tasty Vapor since they don't have samples. I got Cupcake with Raspberry added to it and Watermelon Bubblegum. Hope I have a better experience this time!!

BTW, Dormouse, if you're still there can you explain the whole atty and drip tip thing to me that you suggested I buy from LiteCigUSA.net? I still don't get what that stuff is.

Thanks!

I know I'm not Dormouse, but I will do the best I can :p

The atty, or atomizer is essentially your cartos but without any filler material. It is the heating element that warms your juice. The drip tip replaces the little rubber cap on the end of your carto, and acts as a mouthpiece to the atty. This allows you to drip on an atty without burning your lips on the metal of the atty, as that can get hot.

DSE-901/905 Atomizer These are 901 atomizers that are compatible with your KR808 batt, and they come with whistle-tip style drip tips on them, but most prefer to buy separate drip tips that look nicer and have a better draw, like these (510 drip tips are compatible with 901/KR808) Mega EGO Atomizer Delrin/Plastic Drip Tip

Dripping allows you to use an atty to sample new juices without having to fill an empty carto. It's also preferred by many because it gives you a stronger throat hit, flavor, and/or vapor production.

*NOTE* Be extremely careful when dripping with an auto battery because if juice leaks onto your auto batt, it may damage or kill it.

Thanks for the reply! Okay, so let me make sure I understand. So instead of a cartomizer, I would screw an atomizer onto my battery and then I would put a drip tip on the atomizer? So then where does the liquid go? Does it go in the atomizer or the drip tip? So let's say I didn't like the liquid, would I just rinse whichever one out then? How long do they last? Is it cheaper to do it that way than use cartomizers? Thanks again!

Pretty close.

You stick the atomizer on the battery. If you look inside the atomizer, there is what is called a bridge. You would drip 2-3 drops on the bridge, place the drip tip on the atomizer, and vape away. :)

BRB with pics and vid. Gimme a minute......

OK Here is the video. He uses a 510 atty, but the principle for 901/KR808 is exactly the same. BRB with a close-up of an atty.....

OK Here is apic of an atomizer. The metal mesh that you see at the bottom of the atty is the bridge, which is what you drip onto.

Thanks so much, space! A few questions:

1. What is the big huge cylinder at the bottom of his? Is that his battery?
2. How long does 3 drips on an atty last?
3. Do you have to replace drip tips and attys? If yes, how often?
4. If I used a flavor on an atty and then I wanted to switch flavors, how does that work?

Sorry if I'm being an idiot , but after 3 1/2 months, I still don't know much about this stuff except to stick a cartomizer on a battery and vape!

Thanks again for the info and for going out of your way to get the pics and video for me. I really appreciate it!!

Not sure what you are talking about. In the video? He is showing a 306 atomizer for reference, as it is easier to show the bridge. Different design, but same concept. Please clarify what you mean if that didn't answer your question.

2. How long does 3 drips on an atty last?
5-10 draws YMMV

3. Do you have to replace drip tips and attys? If yes, how often?
Drip tips are replaced when they break. They can also be washed. Attys can last some folks months with proper maintenance. They can be cleaned and some can be refurbished.

4. If I used a flavor on an atty and then I wanted to switch flavors, how does that work?
Just drip your new juice on top of the old one, and the there will be a transition period. Some, like myself, use an intermediary juice. Something soft with a very light flavor. I have found that Mom and Pop's Cotton Candy works well for this.

Sorry if I'm being an idiot , but after 3 1/2 months, I still don't know much about this stuff except to stick a cartomizer on a battery and vape!
Pshaw! No trouble! That's what ECF is all about. :D

You're very welcome.

Answers in bold. I hope those help. Despite my own limited experience, I am glad that I have some answers to your questions. Keep 'em coming!

Hi there! I'll suggest you try out PinkSpotVapors. I've tried probably a dozen flavors from them, and every one tasted exactly like the name suggested, no chemically or perfumey flavors.

When it comes to juices, you really have to kiss a lot of frogs to get your prince. It's worth it though when you do find something you like. If you can find a vendor locally where you can taste test, that helps a lot.

Agreed. It's a lot of trial and error. You eventually start finding what appeals to you. Personally, I like heavy dense flavors and tobacco juices. I have found most juices based off of baked goods and fruit/floral are just too kitschy for me. They are nice, and some surprise me as to how accurate they are, like Mom&Pop's Honeysuckle, but they aren't all day vapes for me personally. That 's why the PIF thread exists...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-you-must-read-rules-before-posting-here.html

@Sweeney Todd - Hey, you're in Durham! Any local places you would recommend to a fellow Cackalackian? I know there is the Volcano Lounge in Raleigh, but I have yet to visit.
