Hi all! I just got a question I've been searching around for and can't find a solid answer lol. Well I have had my Provari V2 since February running 18490 batteries I bought two of them and been rotating them around I eventually got a third. I was just wondering how often do you guys buy new batteries, also how can you tell if they are no good anymore? Do you judge based on how long they last per charge?

Thanks in advance!

:D

I run a couple of mods on 18650's and another on 14500's and have a pair of each that I rotate. I usually have to replace the 18650's about every 9 months to a year, and the 14500's about every 6 to 9 months. You can tell when they're needing replacement when they don't hold a charge very long, or you aren't getting good vapor production like you used to.

I got three AW 18650 IMR batteries just over a year ago. Also got a Pila battery charger with them from RTD Vapor. I've used them in a 3-day rotation every day since then and they are still going strong as if new.

The Pila charger uses charging algorhythms said to possibly prolong the overall life expectancy of batteries. Is it true? Could be. The Pila costs more, but in my experience it is worth it. Much like a Provari.

I've been using my Provari with 18650 since Oct last year. Only last month did I add 1 more battery to the pair that I have. All 3 are very much like new without noticeable degradation to its cycle. I charge when the lights blink on the Provari and I remove an hour or so (maybe more if i don't notice) when the light turns green on the charge.

Edit: AW IMRs batts btw.

It's all crap. A battery charger dumps a set rate of current until the battery reaches 4.2v, then tapers off the current while maintaining the 4.2v. "Fast chargers" ignore the second step, and the time it takes to charge is based on the rate of current and the capacity of the battery. Eg: a 1000mAh battery charged at 500mA (1/2 C) will take 2 hours.
