I've been trying to order some protank coil heads in bulk from Kanger's website so that it's cheaper. I like to change my heads pretty often just because the vape is always better with a fresh coil head. However, for the past month, everytime I check they are always out of stock. Anyone have any idea when they are going to stock up again?

Try here. Kanger ProTank & Evod Coil Replacement **5 Pack - 1.8ohms

They are about as cheap as Fastteck, their shipping isn't that bad, and you can get upto 50 coils in an order. Cost from them to MY door for 50 heads is $63.72. That's $1.27 per head including shipping.

Plus you will have them in a matter of days.

I think shipping is free on orders over $45 at Sun Vapers, so 10x 5 packs would be $57.90, shipped but uninsured.. I just ordered some stuff from them and got free shipping, but I can't find the on-site reference at the moment. Even if you paid the standard shipping, it's only $2.99 I think, so $60.89 total.

I guess bulk direct from China would still be cheaper?

Can always re-build your own coils for the Protank/eVod heads. I've rebuilt my own, it's pretty easy.

Recommended supplies:
~32GA Kanthal 100ft
~Some organic cotton or hemp, SS, 2mm Silica/Ekowool, eBay also has great suppliers for those but you can get some locally.
~Ohm meter or an APV that can check resistance
~Pliers, scissors/or wire cutters

And that's all you really need. I think for around $25 you could get everything and be able to build quite a lot of coils at a fraction of the cost than buying the stock heads. I understand the ease of buying stock ones, I've gotten 2 packs from Sun-Vapers and they always perform nicely, but if you get really good at rebuilding your own they can even outperform those. I'm still trying to get everything I need to build a micro coil above 1.2ohms using 500SS and cheesecloth, but the Ekowool I use works just fine. Takes practice, so watch that video repeatedly to get the best results. With 32GA it's dang easy though, a simple 6 wrap that should come out to around >2.0 Ohms.

As a side note, I have been rebuilding these heads but I'm not sure just how long that rubber grommet by coil should be re-used over and over. Maybe 5? 10? It doesn't seemed built for durability and likely wasn't designed with re-building in it's purpose. At any rate, a $5 pack of stock heads, rebuilt, gets you like $100+ worth of heads for FAR less initial cost.

Vape well, vape often :vapor:

not really into rebuilding my own coils... thanks for the suggestion though... i was actually trying to oder 50+ packs of 5 from kangeronline... it's only $2.50 for a pack of 5 when you order 50+ packs. That's just $.50/coil head. Noticed that they just now have them in stock... going to be stocking up :)

Guess you'll be stocked up!

If i send ya an envelope and postage will you periodically mail me your old heads, lol?

I've always thought for those that aren't into rebuilding their Protank heads (it really is pretty easy to do!), Kanger should set up some type of replacement program. Send in your old, used heads that don't clean up any longer and Kanger sends you new ones at a reduced price. Kanger gets bones to make new heads and users get new ones at a reduced rate. Win for both sides. :D

China is just coming off of a major, week-long holiday. After they've gotten over their hangovers, business over there should return to normal.

I'm with you on not rebuilding. It's a hassle that I can easily handle, but I choose not to because of the economy of replacing them. I still keep a stack of expired coils around, just in case I need to resurrect a dozen or so of'em.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing recently. I don't know if they still do this (I don't work on cars anymore) but it would be kinda like buying a water pump: you can either exchange your old pump or pay a slightly higher price in the form of a "core charge."

I was all set to get into rebuilding my Kanger T2 heads until I found a place that sells them for a buck each. I don't think I'm gonna bother rebuilding as long as I can get them at that price, but I am saving the spent heads just in case I need the parts someday.

I tried the rebuilding angle, using supplies bought on Amazon, and a guide I found on here somewhere. I never did get it figured out, but I had a bunch of unused heads so it wasnt urgent. Then my protank bottom connector broke off while I was simple sitting at my desk taking a drag. I got a replacement, and it happened again within a week.

Anyway, I'd suggest talking someone you know into rebuilding them for super cheap. That's what I ended up doing, but after my second break of the connector I put it on hold.

No idea when they will be restocking, BUT.. The shipping from there is going to ruin your idea on costs...
Cheaper to get them from one of the suppliers suggested in previous posts.

I ordered 60 packs... which came to $150 @ $2.50/pack... shipping was $42... total $192 for 300 coil heads... that's still just $0.64 each... Ordered a lot because I'll be splitting up the heads and costs with 2 other people...

What site are you trying to order from? Most likely the site you are trying to order from is not the official KangerTech website but a China based supplier who has made their site to look like kangertech. example kangeronline.com

kangeronline is legit. If you go to szkanger.com and look at the scrolling bar at the bottom with the sites on it, you'll find kangeronline as an approved site for Kanger.
